He is only 17 years old. He won't stop growing for a couple of years.

It will not matter in the slightest, but I do think he'll have a slight advantage over Messi because of his build. He's a shorty but he's thick. He appears to be a lot more muscular than Messi which will help make him more durable. If there is one knock on Messi is that he tends to get get injured. I don't think Gio will have the same problem...I hope.

built more thick :o lol. Their both still young and their bodies could change still. I remember in High School I was short and scrawny and now I am more built. Players like this get the hard fouls or get fouled on alot because its like one of the only way to stop them. I remember totti compalining about this one time.

dos santos will remain short. but he does have a better built than messi, and messi is completely...overrated.

I don't think he's overrated for what he's asked to do. I know he doesn't have the most powerful of shot but my main complaint is his tendency to get hurt.

 yeah hes overrated...hes not the next maradona but no one is.
He was tearing it up before he got hurt, he helped barca alot when dinho wasn't at his best ie.. the first werder bremen match and some others too. I just think it's nuts how much they try to get the barca attack through him too other than dinho even when he was just 18 years old.
SoCalDan is right though about his shot though and injuries though, lets all remember hes 19 years old though. Anyways enough of him.
I am interested to see how two saints will do in the first team and hopefully when he does move up fans don't expect too much from him right away. Anyways how long has he actually lived in spain? just interested to see how much longer before he could get his spanish citizenship(Dosn't someone have to live 3 years in there?)

Messi is a great young talent, more skill than strenght. However with the finesse he has in his shot.. power isnt a big issue. though

Notice Dos Santos' anatomy. Have you noticed the over-developed muscles on his legs? His torso and his lower train don't seem to match. What this means is that not only is most of his physical strength located in his lower body, but his center of gravity as well. This means that he can accelerate explosively when standing, walking or running; he can also do very sharp turns without falling over. He is also less prone to injuries. And remember, he is merely 17 and still growing physically. (In this respect, see what he did in the Brazil game when he made a pass to Vela in front of three defenders; see also his pass to Villaluz in front of five Dutch defenders, both instances at the U17 championship.)
Now combine these physical traits to his vision of the field of play, his technical skills, his nuanced treatment of the ball and his self-confidence....
Messi is very skillful, but he is physically disadvantaged, both in mass and height, when playing in an intense, professional football environment, and so he is injury prone.

I was not debating that..nor was i comparing Messi with GDS, while the first portion of your post is mere logic... it does not mean GDS will be less susceptible to injuries.
What i was stating is, that you dont have to be big (mass wise) or very strong to be able to be exceptional..which he Messi has demonstrated exceptional skill.
Of course that when paired with a bigger and stronger defender there may be a disadvantage but it doesnt mean tht it'll always be the case.
I do belive that when Giovani fully develops and eventually hits his peak.. will be better than Messi.
