Hello, everybody and Happy New Year! As some of you may be aware, I have posted a number of times over the past 6 months my intentions of organizing a group of Atlanta area soccer fans interested in supporting our city's push to land an MLS expansion team. The time has now come to make it happen. Along with my partner, BS member USMNT#1, I would like to announce that the MLStoAtlanta movement has begun and I hope that all of you will join us.

Obviously, our group will only be as strong as our membership so we are looking for any Atlanta area soccer fans interesed in our cause. So if you would like to learn what you can do to actively contribute to the group, or if you are just interested in joining so you can stay plugged in to all of the news relevant to our fight, please send an email from an address you frequently use to:

info@mls2atl.com

and we will add you to our list of members. Your email address will not be distributed to anyone else and we will only send you email in response to your questions or regarding official group news. We will send you a confirmation that your interest has been received. We need as many members as we can get so please spread the word.

At this point, our first priority is recruiting members. We are also in the process of developing a plan to create a professionally done website and will soon announce plans for a meeting which we hope to have at the Brewhouse on Jan. 20 for the US vs. Denmark game.

What all are you going to have on the website and what do you plan on doing with this group?

One thing i'd try and do on your website is to get involved with the club & highschools as far as stats, results, rankings, players, etc... I think that would greatly help recruit new members. take for example, how active the ga soccer forum is.

You're right...and we'll try to do as much of that as we can. But our goal is to land a team and then become the official supporter's group...not report on youth soccer. But we'll try something and once we get organized, we'll look to the members for ideas.

We like the website that the Texian Army uses and will most likely use that as our model.

As a non Georgian, (NC thank Christ) I am interested in supporting you, but I live about three hours from ATL so I can't come to one of your Dorkstravaganzas, but they sound very nice BK. I hope you, 11B and HeMan all end up in a threeway. I'll help from the outside and come to games untill the Carolina Airborne dominate the southern MLS landscape

As a non Georgian, (NC thank Christ) I am interested in supporting you, but I live about three hours from ATL so I can't come to one of your Dorkstravaganzas, but they sound very nice BK. Will you guys, just look for the "MLStoAtlanta -- New organizaion seeking more members" thread and post your support? I does not require registration and the forum is very difficult to navigate, but as of now it is still on the first page about halfway down.

We need to let them know that this is serious.

Well, we've got 12 in a week and all I have done is posted in a few online forums. I haven't even contacted all my friends here in Atlanta...some of whom are coaches, or coaching directors at local youth clubs.

Things are going well, but people have seen this before....remember that other bringmlstoatlanta site? Those people really messed us up as they cause this big stir and then did nothing to sustain it. We are different, but people doubt our credibility at the moment. That will change. :D
