Sudamericano 2007 Sub-20 en Paraguay (R)

El campeonato de Paraguay se dividirá en dos etapas. La inicial (comienza el 7 de enero con el debut de Brasil ante Chile) será de dos grupos de cinco seleccionados: los tres primeros de cada zona se clasificarán para el hexagonal que arranca el viernes 19 de enero. El período decisivo será todos contra todos: los cuatro primeros conseguirán el boleto para el Mundial de Canadá y sólo el campeón y el subcampeón tendrán un lugar en los Juegos Olimpicos 2008 de China.

I like the line-up.. Garay can be one of the defenders.. And remember that Maxi Moralez would be on the bench.. I also heard players like Buonanotte, Di Santo, and Alejandro Gomez could have a good future, but haven't seen them play at all..

This is under 20 (1987 and younger), not under 21 tournament. Ustari, Gago, Paletta, Garay, Cardozo - they all are not allowed to play in this championships.

The situation Argentina is in now is embarrassing. I'm going to say it.

AFA should be hung, if I don't get to see Argentina, the defending and 5x U20 Champions this year. I'm going to be so mad. :mad:

Man was I angry when I wrote that. Just think about it, I'm waiting or nearly a year to be able to see Argentina come to Canada, and now they are on near verge of elimnation. There is still some hope. We should have won our first game.

Today Equador and Colombia play, both are in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Each with 4 and 3 points. Lets hope they draw so they only gain 1 point each. Argentina faces Venezuela, if they don't beat them, we are done. This is the easiest game in the tournament, lose this and the AFA federation will have serious egg on their face.

This reminds me of the u20 round-robin in hockey. USA lost 2 straight (they were the favorites). They came back to win in OT to beat host Sweden, and finished off by winning a bronze medal.

Lets hope Argentina digs down and has the same balls like they did.
