No, NJSEA doesn't allow it. The last person I remember setting off a smoke bomb was some DC fan who was very promtly escourted out of the stadium. NJSEA sux, big time.

Actually, a DC fan was escorted out. A smoke bomb was lit. However, as usual, NJSEA didn't have the correct person. Just throw someone out.

that's retarded.... thats why soccer is gonna take a while to catch on here... bc security are such boners....u go to any sporting event outside the United States and it's a mad house. Even a Yankees Boston Game doesn't compare to a european/south american football match......

In all fairness, I do like to feel like my life isn't on the line :D I had the luck to see a match in Rio between Vasco and Flamengo, and was advised I should take off my vasco jersey and hat before leaving the stadium so I didn't get beat up (and I'm a girl). On the flip side, I do enjoy watching the matches with the smoke all around, and definitely they should let flags and banners in

I'm sorry :o, I thought I had seen something on the meadowlands long list of banned substances or heard on the never-ending looped recording that those things are banned, but before responding to this, I looked at the list again, and I am totally wrong. They do ban sticks, so I don't know if that would include a flag pole, I've never tried.

you can, but you (or someone standing somewhere near you) will be kicked out and barred from GS. I recommend that you don't do it.

I'm sure you know that the Red Bulls are moving into a new stadium next year ... down the road in Harrison New Jersey; hopefully the stadium atmosphere ... and what will be allowed at the stadium ... will improve at the new location. Thankfully, NJSEA will not be working at the Harrison stadium.

As far as off-season "fireworks", I'm hoping we will see some international signings during this month's transfer window; at a minimum we need a starting forward, central attacking midfielder and defensive midfielder.

Well stated, TNT. By the way, banners are allowed, and as we have already established above, flagpoles are taboo. I would LOVE nothing more than to have a HUUUUUUGE flag to wave during matches, and a HUUUUUGE banner to unfurl when the players enter, score, and generally "clean house!" :-)

Yep, as along as there's no pole it's fine.

A very interesting thread, but in Europe we also may not to "burn a smoking bomb"! But we do it.....;)
