I know Houllier's name has been thrown around as possibility to lead the national team but this could scratch his name off, assuming he was on the list. Houllier, I think was the coach, Gullati indirectly spoke of when he mentioned his intention to name a permanent manager after the European season.

he's another guy i'd love to have, a guy who sounds great 'on paper'. IOW, he'd be an ideal candidate if maybe he was a little younger and if his heart was 100% in it. but as we know those are 2 gigantic 'ifs'. i don't want a guy who isn't sure if he even really wants the job. let's face it, head coach of the US national team ain't for everyone. you have to somewhat embrace the American way of life and American culture.

and let's be honest: no one on here can realistically picture Gerard fricken Houllier boarding that charter bus for the 5 hour off-road trip into Mazatenango for WCQ matchday, can they? i have an easier time visualizing myself getting a date with Eva Longoria.

If he wants an administrative post, he's likely to be tired of the grueling club job. That's sort of a plus to the US.

I also doubt FFF will pay $2M to an administrator.
