mario mendez had a good world cup.. plus on the position that lavolpe had him in la seleccion he did very good... specially vs argentina... as a matter of fact he was involved en el gol de mexico vs argentina.. so in my opinion lavolpe will squeeze all the juice that mario mendez is packing.. plus in tigres even el bofo would look bad.. so you really cant use that as a measure of mendez caliber

I always thought that Mendez was the best choice after Carmona and "gringo" Castro for the right wing position. If you guys say that there are "so many" better players at this position please list them because the only ones I can think that are better than him are the two I mentioned and "Pity" Altamirano(I don't think he's better than Mendez).

Mendez, in my opinion, is a toned down version of Carmona. Able to add to the attack, always running up and down, and usually solid in defense. I think he had good games in the WC and in the Confederations after Carmona got sent home. It is true, however, that his level went somewhat down after he left Toluca.

I wish him luck, and hopefully he does good with Velez.
