< --- iTunes noob......

OK so I downloaded an album from iTunes onto my work computer and then onto my mp3 player. I tried to burn a CD and it looked like it worked, but when I went to test it...nada. But all the tracks show up on the disc when I look at it through Windows Explorer.

So what do I need to do so I can actually hear the music without using any Apple products???

What program did you use to burn the CD??

What program did you use to burn the CD?? Maybe "burn" wasn't the correct term.

Since I had the album on my mp3 player, all I did was drag and drop the album into a blank CD and it copied over. It just doesn't play.

That's your problem. What are you using to try play the CD? Windows Media Player, CD player?

Both WMP and an ancient Sony boombox.

So what do I need to do then?

This is the way I do it -

1. Create a folder (playlist) in Itunes and put the album tracks you want on the CD in it. You can usually fit about 16 songs.
2. Put blank disk in drive.
3. Select the folder you have created.
4. There should be an option "burn tracks to disk" or "burn CD" or something.
5. It should create a music CD that you can play on stereos and on Windows software, etc.

Yeah, you burned a "file" CD instead of a "music" CD.
