Yes that's my plan!
I'll be travelling up from London for the day....
Anyone have any idea of the best way to travel bus/train and how long it takes to get there?
Quickest ways are train and plane. I took a Virgin train from Euston Station to Liverpool Lime Street and it took about 3 hours total. I'd definitely stay over night -- the night life in the pubs is part of the trip. You should also book the Museum Tour in advance -- it can fill up.

Euston - Lime Street is now 2 hours 15 minutes. If you book a while in advance you can get quite good deals too. Click this link for the current timetable (http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/img/timetables/200804/Virgin_Trains_C.pdf).

I guess I included my taxi to Euston in the total time:D

I'll be in Grave's End/London visiting the wifes family Feb 16th - March 3rd. What is my best best for catching EPL games, hopefully Liverpool. I checked the schedule and Liverpool have 1 home game and 1 away game to Middlesborough.
Any suggestions?

Read the thread. Try RAWK for exchange for the home game. Look to scalping services for either. Try to see if the hospitality (higher priced seats in the Main or Centenary Stands) are available. Beg Scousers here, or people here with local connections. Away you might be able to get a seat at Boro in the home sections but you'll have to eschew any visual or vocal support of LFC. Buying a Boro fan card through their web site could help.
Can anyone else add to my suggestions?

I am thankful that being a member of the uslfc helps me get tickets to any home match other than the obvious Man. U or Everton matches.
I hope to get over there next season. Work situations prevented it this season.:(

how much is it roughly to get to Liverpool from London, also what is the fastest way, hours wise
if it is 5 hours each way, I rather get a plane then, please let me know as I want to book tickets then
as I have got a Executive group ticket for 1 person and it is a very good package and I want it to be a good day.
The match is against Newcastle on 2nd May 2009 and this is the best option I can find, I mean 2-3 changes sucks as there is no direct train

I don't know what you mean -- Virgin Trains run a number of direct Euston Station to Liverpool Lime Street trains every day. Price varies, but is lowest the further out you book. The time has now been brought down to two hours each way.

The journey normally takes 2 hours and 15 minutes. It sounds like on the day you intend to travel, they're doing some upgrade to the west coast line. Obvious solution? Travel the day before. More expensive, but quicker and simpler - direct from Euston to Lime Street.

I've read through this thread multiple times over the past few years, and I'm hoping to finally put some of the information contained in it to use as I'm planning my first trip to Anfield (and England, for that matter) :)
The match have in mind is the 11/21 fixture vs. Man City. I'm flying from New York, and would like to also visit Manchester and London, so I'm open to selecting the location with the cheaper flight (ideally I would fly into one city and return to New York from another, but it seems much cheaper to book a round-trip ticket to/from the same city). I plan to take the train while traveling between these 3 cities (a 2 hour maximum commute does not seem too bad).
Does anyone have any further advice/tips/suggestions regarding transportation to/within England? I'm considering booking airfare now, but am just so hesitant to do so since I do not have a match ticket (and figure that it will be difficult to acquire one given the opposition and the fact that I am not a club member/do not have a history of match attendance)!
Your thoughts would be much appreciated...

Bump.
I'm also traveling this December to England in hopes of catching a couple of Liverpool matches. I'm flying from L.A. Probably flying and staying in London area. Traveling to Liverpool by train.
Any advice on places to eat? or sights to see other than the usual "tourist" spots?
I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
