It's making me CARE again!

The entire season up to this point has left me pretty numb, and speechless. I cannot believe how so much good has turned into so much bad . . . in so little time. Solid, dependable, little Charlton . . . tough, hard-working, fiesty Charlton . . . sure, maybe even mediocre, boring, irrelevant Charlton. But still, we had an identity, a face, and a reputation to be proud of. As other bigger, flashier clubs were on the promotion/relegation merry-go-round . . . as some clubs dealth with financial crisis and administration . . . we fixed up our little ground and put out a decent side, who occasionally impressed the nay-sayers with a suprising result or two. We were honest, we were financially sound, we were stable . . . we were in the Premiership!
Look at us now.

I heard a lot of complaints last season; fans insisting that Curbs' time had come and it was time for a change. Is this what they had in mind, I wonder? How these same fans must be wishing for some of those boring 0-0 results now! The situation at the club seems surreal, circus-like. I don't believe a single thing I read or hear that comes from Varney or Murray. The Dowie fiasco, and now the Reed disaster. The clock is ticking and our time is running out if we are to stay up this season. Our reputation (which is about all we had to hang our hats on) has quickly gone up in smoke. So much for being the model of a 'stable football club.' Before, others might wanted to be in our shoes. Who would want that now? We are in full free-fall. Let's hope Pardew can pull the rip cord and we land safely, somewhere, anywhere. Even in the old First Division.

Honestly, I saw this coming:

Good move on your team's part.

I think Pardew was the right decision for your lot. I do fear it is possible it might be too late to keep you up this year.

He will have to make some good moves in January. Pressley would be a start.

Even though I'm a Gooner, I don't want to see Charlton relegated, because for some odd reason I have a soft spot for them. I think that Pardew will give you guys a much needed lift, but he's just the manager. He can lead the team to water, but he can't make them drink. The players have to do that themselves. However, having a man with so much experience, I think that Charlton will be quite active during the January transfer window. Who knows who you could pick up.

There is hope...in my opinion.

I have been quiet for a while now. I have been very busy at work and at home. And I was just too depressed about the state of the club to even type anything. But now that Pardew has become manager, I have renewed hope.

Just from seeing the highlights of the Fulham match, I see hope. We were playing with heart and hustle again.

It would be fantastic to add Pressley.

Does anyone know why Corey Gibbs hasn't played yet?

I guess we should always be managed by an Alan!

Go Addicks!
