Overall i consider gerrard to be much better than lampard, but right now lampard much better he already scored 12 goals this season comparing to the four gerrard has, and lampard contribution to Chelsea is much clearer and he is defo very good player for chelsea at the moment.
Liverpool need to sort themselves out at the moment.
lampard is attacking midfield, while gerrard is all rounder midfield he can defend and attack. But lampard is better in attacking than gerrard but gerrard's work rate is very high.

One of these players tackles more, runs more, passes more, assists more and scores more than the other. Guess who.

That player is surrounded by better players.

Haha such a shit excuse. Gerrard is a quality quality player. No doubt. But the thing that earns him so much praise is his biggest weakness - he's a bit of a headless chicken at times.

Why do I need to make excuses, I have no allegiance to either club or player.

Your the only one who could be accused of bias.

If you read my earlier post, you will see that I big up Lampard, and I defininetly rate him among the top 5 attacking midfielders in the world. I still think Gerrard has the edge though.

I can see who you support thanks. I could indeed be accused of bias. But I'm not biased and I am right.

If Gerrard and Lampard switch places two years ago, does Liverpool still have their CL and FA Cup trophies? And does Chelsea still have their two Premiership titles? There's your answer.

Chelsea would still win games without Lampard, but Liverpool could only dream of winning without Gerrard.

Gerrard could never play in a system where he isnt given total freedom to roam around recklessly and tactically unaware.

Chelsea would be worse off with him instead of Lampard

LOL! Yeah, like when he's placed firmly and exclusively on the right wing, where Benitez plays him whenever Sissoko and Alonso are both fit. He was a total failure there, wasn't he??

Look, we're all allowed an opinion, of course, but don't post unless you've got at least some inkling of what you're talking about, eh? That's just silly.

It seems to me that he was given a lot of freedom in that role to drift into the middle. He certainly wasn't a 'traditional' winger in terms of the role he was given.

Well no, he wasn't a winger in any sense of the word. But equally, he wasn't just roaming around like a hippy in a cornfield either. People have such short memories - it's literally a matter of weeks since every man and his dog was moaning about how Gerrard is better in the middle in a free role, rather than being asked to continue in a strictured right-sided role by Benitez - which, in turn, was little more than a couple of months since Gerrard was routinely and effortlessly excelling in precisely that role and all those men and their dogs were moaning about how Gerrard was being a little "me me" for professing his preference for a central role.

In other words, the opinion to which I was responding was just one more example of the gormless spluttering typical of the goldfish mental capacity of Internet sages such as our chum up there.

Either that, or Rafa Benitez is a tactical naif in comparison to the great and the good of Bigsoccer and can't be expected to have the same level of insight and discernment when it comes to what his players can and cannot be expected to do.
