Whos better Lampard or Gerrard?

Gerrard, he's the anchor of the midfield, and is their overall best player. When you look at Lamps, he's not even close to that. Of course, that's going by importance, not who's better, but if I had the choice between the two, I would take Gerrard.

:D not for me. I said Gerrard was better individually as a player right away, so I have no problems with those who said Gerrard.

I'm just curious how long it will be until another poster starts a new Lampard vs. Gerrard thread.

Gerrard owns Lampard any day of the week! Lampard just has a good supporting team so he gets more opportunity.

the difference wen comparing these two players is tht gerrard is an overall better player where lampard is just a passer and shooter

gerrard has his strengths and they r obvious, but he is also a very well rounded player. besides his fantastic shooting, passing, and thru balls, he defends extremely well, is fast, can put a very good tackle in, make great runs, and works like there is no tomorrow in every game.

lampard isnt as great at the things he isnt known for, such as his defending

the two are almost equal in getting into the box and scoring from the top of the 18, gerrard is a bit better with his head, but its on the other side of the field where the 2 need to be compared. lampard has trouble defending and with his tackling. the reason the 2 dont work well in the england squad is because u need to assign one of them an attacking role and one a more defensive role otherwise the 2 would be in the box all day with no1 in the middle to cover them. gerrard plays the more defensive role because he is a better defender, but he usually looks better in the england side because he does more, he defends, he attacks, he makes runs. lamps only makes runs, passes and attacks. gerrard usually looks the better of the 2 players wen england is playing because he does more, including a lot of what lampard does too. lampard doesnt look as good with england because even tho he has sum1 behind and covering him, gerrard gets forward a lot which does not allow lampard the freedom to get forward as much as he does with chelsea. and because he is not as forward, he does not score as many goals or take as many shots which takes away a pretty big part of his game which therefore makes him look like he is not a good player. gerrard still looks like a good player because he is a true center mid and does everything, where lampard is more of an attacking mid playin in a center mids role
