So what if it was a reserves match behind closed doors friendly v Fulham. At least he got one in. Who knows, maybe this wil turn it on for him.

Our reserves are freaking dominant.

Has he really looked like scoring recently to anyone? I admit I'm supremely saddened, because I was expecting him to be a huge assett this season, but I'm not sure he has it for this level (to be fair, maybe he's just not ready).

Not since the winner against Boro in the season opener. Although I can't believe that Reading would spend a million pounds on a transfer that didn't appear to have to potential to go to the next level. They seem much to frugle with their transfer funds to take a flyer on an unknown.

During that Watford game it sounded like he might..but I agree, he's never really looked capable of scoring..in a while. Even the goal against Boro was a complete poacher's goal off a great play by Doyle. I honestly thought he may be one of our better players coming into the season, but apparently not. Maybe he can start with Kitson in a FA Cup game or something, to try to get him going at least a little bit.

Hmmm, you got me thinking... Jan. 6 Reading play Burnley in the FA Cup. We could see Kitson and Convey coming back in that game, Lita or Long up front with Kits, Oster on the right wing. I hope that one shows up on FSC or an internet stream.

Its not on FSC or anything, but it may show up on stream. I hope so too, because it could be quite interesting.

Lets hope that one does show up on a stream. I, too, would be interested in seeing the lineup Reading would play for that match.

Well, he did play a big role in getting them out of the CCC, which IMO makes the $1.8m well spent. He stepped up a level for them into the CCC, and scored, what, 15 or 16, despite long injured stretches.
I guess it took Zamora a couple years to complete the transition from killing level three, to dominant level two to solid level one striker, so there is time.
Also, the point on kits return is excellent. I think both lita and doyle are better paired with kitson. Really, we need to sign a kitson clone, so we're never without him.

personally willing to give Lita a bit more time before giving up on him. think he realises by now whats at stake and that he has a whole lot to prove and improve.

although he hasnt been that good in the last couple of sub appearance and one start, he does seem more prone to playing as a team.

if he trades in his yellow boots for a less 'look at me' kind of boots, id be even more willing to give him more time.

Anyone want to give up on Lita now? :D

I'd like to think that scoring at the Bridge will give him a wee bit of confidence.

Just a little.

I'm really happy for him. I hope this gets him going for the rest of the season. Just think, for most of the season we've had one legit forward, soon we may have three.

Should be no confidence problems for lita now, i agree. It wasn't just a goal, it was a very nice one. He created a bit of space and little found him. Little, IMO, was at his best for long stretches yesterday. But Lita was doing more than just the goal. Great to see.
I was clearly overreacting earlier.

I finally saw the goal on replays last night. What a beauty. He did look to be more active in the highlights they showed. I'm interested to see the full match on fanzone tonight.
