Hertha 99. ;)
But ok:
Stuttgart
1993/94: 7th in Bundesliga (when he came in Dec. they were 13th)
12.IV.95: 12th in Bundesliga
Hertha:
1995/96: 10th in 2.BL when he came, end of season 14th
(avoided relegation to RL only by goal difference)
1996/97: 3rd in BL 2, means promotion
1997/98: 11th in Bundesliga
1998/99: 3rd in Bundesliga, CL-qualification
1999/00: 6th in Bundesliga
2000/01: 5th in Bundesliga
6.II.2002: 7th in Bundesliga
Wolfsburg:
2002/03: 8th in Bundesliga (11th, when he came (4. März 2003))
3.IV.2004: 11th in Bundesliga
Partizan Belgrad:
2005/06: 2nd in serbian league
Thanks for that EE. Saves me some work. Over on our e-mail list, I posted that some of the guys I used to write with think hiring Roeber for this job was a mistake.
I don't necessarily agree with them, I just would have rather seen Juergen Kohler get the job.
Not because I think Kohler is a better coach, but I will use your guy as an example of what I do think.
I think one of the reasons Thomas Schaaf does such a great job for you guys is that he is a "Werder Man".
I think BVB needs a "BVB Man" in the coach's chair. Someone who truly identifies with the club and what it should stand for.
I don't think Juergen Roeber can do that.
But if all they want him to do is keep the seat warm for von Heesen, then yeah, I don't think they could have picked a better guy......... ;)

I think Jurgen Rober is a good choice. I always thought is Hertha teams played hard, were mostly tactically sound, and played attacking soccer. They were never world beaters, but they were usually competitive, and fun to watch.
Whether he'll be an improvement on van Marwijk is very dubious. I thought van Marwijk was solid. It'll be a wash, IMHO.
But the big improvement is that it's easier for me to spell out Rober than van Marwijk. ;)

I have no problem with the choice of Roeber. Just basic doubts.....
But, I will agree that I can't think of anyone "better" we could have realistically gotten for six months.

Kicker is reporting that Thomas von Heesen is leaving Bielefeld at the end of the season.
One has to assume that Watzke got "his man" for next season......

OK. More on this soap opera!
von Heesen resigned as Bielefeld coach after their 1-0 loss to Bayern yesterday.
The rumors are already flying that if we lose to Gladbach on Saturday, Roeber will be fired and von Heesen hired.
Honestly, I don't think it should take a loss to put von Heesen in charge.
Nothing against Roeber because none of this is his fault. I just think if von Heesen is the guy who is eventually going to be in charge anyhow, then let's get him in there and get on with it.
Let him find out what players he wants to keep and which he wants to get rid of.
Keep Roeber on as a consultant until the end of the seaon.
Or what the hey? Promote Roeber to Director of Sport for the rest of the season and fire Zorc!!!
Roeber can't do any worse......

So please let us win the game in order to sign Thomas von Heesen. ;) :)

Did you watch us play against Aachen?
My only hope is the fact that we don't have to attack since we are the away team.

At the moment there are strange things happening at BVB. Zorc's position might be at stake. Michael Rummenige might take over....or even Thomas von Heesen could be our next sporting manager.
