Beckham never said that he wants to play in MLS. He styles himself as a soccer missionary. Don't worry Becks - we already had Pele. Just work on your free kicks and relax.

He needs to ring up Grimandi. If you sign with the MLS these days, they expect you to actually show up and play. You can't hang out with your girlfriend in the stands. For some odd reason, they actually expect you to contribute on the field. I know it's sad. Those Norte Americanos just have no respect for aging soccer players any more.

at least he seems interested in making the sport big here, instead of hinting at coming here on extended holiday, like most of the foreign stars do.

but in the end, it's all talk and doesn't mean anything. And of course he didn't indicate playing in MLS, so there's no point in debating this...

I think that buzz is gonna turn into a bonafide head rush when ManU steps onto the pitch for their matches in the States. All the venues sold out within minutes once tickets became available.

I'm just curious as to what side events the Red Devils'll have in each city during this tour?

The story I read had a headline of "Becks won't rule out Real move". But most of the story is about Becks talking of the US tour in the summer, pretty strange since he'd already be sold by then, eh?

As for the type of squad you'll see at each match. I'd wager that if you went to both matches on the West Coast, or both matches on the East Coast, you'd probably be confident, barring injury, of seeing around 90 minutes from each "big name" player. This is an exhibition tour, but it's also their Pre-Season, so I'm sure that many of the first teamers will get significant playing time. (If they follow what they've done in the past with their Far East and other Pre-Season tours...)

Side events? Beckham on Leno? LOL!
