If the last two are fully confirmed, then it would be 4 straight home games, why can't those last two games be away games? Especially Ecaudor match? We need to gain a sufficient number of DIFFICULT away games in order to be more successful.

We'll get a few of those in July.

we can't get difficult away games against Central and South American teams because those teams would rather come play in the US. Lots of South American teams play "neutral site" friendlies in the US in stead of at home.

Why???
There is no need to go to a third world country to ply a friendly. If away game is scheduled it would be nice to see it against a team like Spain or Italy, Maybe even Greece. But Guatamala??? Why don't we schedule a game in Tehran vs. Iran if you think facing a hostile crowd will make us better.

Or North Korea in Pyongyang? Or Iraq in Baghdad?
I'm sure Iraqis would be real happy to see the USMNT in Baghdad...

Why not? Like Bobby Bowden said, in order to be among the best, you have to be king of the road which means dealing with all type of problems that come with the away games. Miami fans were very rabid during late 1980s and early 1990s but I admit that it is nothing like fans in nations you just mentioned. My point is that if they can learn to put those fears and "US play real soccer?" (from other nations' fan) aside and focus on the matches, then they can play better. Need to get over the "inferior feeling". The reason USA played Italy in WC so well was because US Army base was nearby and there were lots of USA fans there so therefore it made it more of a "home game". Again, they need to forget about the home feeling addiction and play matches for real. Many successful internatiional teams are able to do one thing, it is to be king of the road.

Well, last time I checked, playing any Central American team or Mexico in any southern part of the United States is basically an away game :) - counting by the number of foreign fans rooting for their national team instead of the US.

Thanks to you and Fid for the correction. I knew that, I just had a momentary brain lapse.

this HOME scheduling might be a hidden reason JK turned down the usa gig...
ussf fills it's coffers with HOME matches...
the 1st two are fine, BUT those in MARCH, please go to europe, and play better etams than guatemala and ecuador...
if you're saying the march matches emulate a latin style for gold cup and copa america, that's just an excuse...
i and disappointed in tha LAST two matches listed for march

There is supposedly going to be a friendly against Scotland on the East Coast, but I haven't seen any confirmation of it yet. It would be May
29th or June 2nd.

Ecuador is a very strong team. They are arguably the 3rd best team in the Western Hemisphere right now after Brazil and Argentina. Why is this a weak game?

Especially since it's going to be practically an away match with all the Ecuadorians there in New York...

I had heard that too, but where'd you come up with those dates, they aren't FIFA match days.

Here's a link to some "news" about US v Scotland in May, but no firm date set yet.

June 2nd is a FIFA date. And Scotland doesn't have a game then. They play the 6th in the Faeroe Islands. The Gold Cup starts on the 6th as well.
