I think Dubya said something about the teams 'soccericity' and this was the highlight of his presidenting career.

Tony Meola, the 3rd-string goalkeeper for the US Men's World Cup Soccer Team, eyes a pretzel on the ground near President George Bush's feet.

President Bush brings back the "good old days" of US domestic policy by making all of the team's black players stand at the back of the line.

Yep, my nomination for "Dummest Quote of the Day."

BTW, I never knew Cobie was whiter than Arena.

I thought it was a great quote. You guys are WAY too sensitive.

And its spelled "dumbest."

President George Bush, the least intelligent president of the United States ever,

...and I can only imagine the S H I T storm of protest that would greet any European poster who came up with the line above. But then again, it's not really trendy in good-ole-middle-class-liberal-democrat-voting-three-cars-per-family-soccer-mom-in-tow-American soccer circles to appreciate a president who's intelligent enough to know just how intelligent he is.

Thanks, Spelling was never my strong point.

As for the quote, in the US, today, the mere hint that someone is a racist is enough to destroy their career. Yes, we are too sensative, but that is the climate we have created.

USMNT at the White House? "Inconceivable!"

Jeff Agoos, with hair pulled back, stands perfectly still hoping no one will notice he snuck into the ceremony

It is akin to the an Englishman taking the piss out of the Royal Family, but they wouldn't hear of it when and outsider does. I, for one, think Dubya is a very intelligent man. Harvard MBA and all. He may, however, not be the most camera friendkly speaker. But, you know what, at least he is not banging fat white house interns and at least he is not letting Somalians pull an American soldier's dead body through the streets of Mogadishu and doing nothing about it. If you can't tell...I am a card carrying member of the Republican Party. If you want an amoral country and a president witrh charm than re-elect Clinton.

Pablo Mastroeni continues the spirit of the World Cup in the Oval Office by introducing George Bush to his version of "pocket soccer."

But for insider-trading and corporate fun, dial Bush-Cheney...

OK, the score is even now, no more politics.

The corporate fun & accounting shenanigans happened on Clinton's watch while he had his back turned (no doubt to shield Monica from the media). The corporate crackdown is happening under Bush. Ok, so we're not even anymore.

Getting a hummer in the Oval Office vs. subjugation of the constitution, suspension of individual liberty and creation of police state...hmmm.

Can't we move this to the politics forum?

All in all, I never thought I'd see a picture of these guys in the Oval Office. :)

That's what I'm saying. The jokes are funny and all but that's a room full of MLS guys standing around with the frigging PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. How cool is this?

I'm not even there, I don't even know any MLS players and I am getting a HUGE kick out of seeing those pictures. This is great.

Clint Mathis with his Mohawk in the Oval Office. Landon Donovan a 20 year old kid who MLS rescued and who in turn is helping rescue MLS, standing shoulder to shoulder with GW. And its pretty cool to invite Chris Armas along too.

Greatness.

Cobi looks taller. What gives? Elevator shoes? He's pulling an Alan Ladd right in front of our eyes.

Clint looks like a businessman -- amazing. And is that Johnny-O on the far left?

No... that's McBride. Looks like he's lost weight. He always looks like he's lost weight.

Is Dubya tall or do we just have a short team?
