Pretty good. It's very much a Weinstein film, i.e. like old Miramax, i.e. not a lot of world-changing philosophy and touches of conventionality that don't quite fit on an otherwise compelling story. But worth it.

"The Best of Youth"
Finished this one up (disk 2, last three hours). Very very good. Not a minute too long.
One of the scenes (new years, fireworks going on outside) blew me away. Completely unexpected, although in retrospect very expected.
I thought the scene where the two are walking and then joined by the brother was VERY powerful.
It might be the age I am (have a couple of teenagers who are closer to leaving home than I like to think) but a great film. I would think that would have been a very politically powerful film in Italy in relation to the Iraq war as well.
Dang I want a house in the Italian countryside.

I'm not a fan of DePalma or Cruise but for some reason I still like this movie even with all the flaws.

DePalma is fantastic but for some reason he has trouble being consistent.
Dressed to Kill is fantastic
Casualties of War is terrifically underrated
Carlitos Way and BlowOut are just a tad shy of perfect.
Then you through in all his other fun movies like Mission Impossible and Carrie. I think the guy is hard not to be a fan of.

Some of the best stuff I saw in the past five years. It felt like a breath of fresh air when I first saw it.

Are you safe in Holland? Did your family make it out?

We've called the divorce off. When we threatened to leave Belgium to shack up with her slutty older sister, Holland, she realized just how much she'd miss us. Besides, there'd be something wrong if Holland suddenly had quality beer.

Naturally one of the greatest of all film noirs. And anything Tourneur made is always worth watching. Oh, and Jane Greer was a huge hottie.

And she did next to nothing after Out of the Past, what maybe one more RKO pic with Mitchum. She was magnificent though, and that may be the most quotable movie I have seen. I love it.

Saw Eragon at the movies and thought it was rubbish.
Last night watched Antwone Fisher and didnt mind it, followed by Remember the Titans one of my all time favourite movies.

Interesting, good, but definately a workout.
I think that no one should ever be allowed to use the term "surrender monkeys" until they certify that they have sat through this.
