SOL returns to THE GROVE!! Clearly Pompey are a tough side. Don't know what to make of them...haven't seen PFC play that much this season, but they are near the top of the table, still. So they can't be garbage. I think all the

My prediction: I'm thinking a 1-1 draw. I hope I'm wrong, but the fixtures are piling up and we haven't exactly looked dominate as of late.

Go on Arsenal!!

Gallas and Rosicky still doubtful so,

-----Baptista-Ade
RVP--------------Hleb
-----Gilberto---Cesc
Clichy--Djorou-Toure--Eboue

I'd bring walcott on in the second half against more tired legs. Baptista was poor, but not giving him a steady run of games will ensure he nevers gets to improve.

This looks like a tricky match. Pompey have only conceded 14 goals (compared to our 13). 'Arry will have his squad organized and marshalled to go for the Ashburton Special: absorb pressure for twenty minutes, nick a goal against the run of play, then defend with ten men for 70 minutes.

So I'd like to see us actually try to draw them out a bit, to invite their players to come forward to try and get posession then get in behind the space they create. Then find Adebayor and hope he converts!

I was reading some of the papers and it said they might throw Sol up front because all their strikers are down, lol. Imagine that?

If that's true, what odds is Ladbrooke's paying that he walks out of the dressing room at the break after missing two sitters?

when i first looked at the fixtures list in July the games after Chelsea were supposed ro be the easy ones. now, i dont know, we are a better side then Pompey, but we never know when this Arsenal team is going to show up. i think a 3-1 win with us scoring first. Adebayor with two, and Walcott gets his first for the Arsenal. We need to be focused for the next 1 and a half, and if we are then 2nd place will still be in reach.

I dont think Portsmouth will come here and play completely defensive .. THey have a good defense and good GK .. And good Cesc, Hleb & RvP were rested for the Wigan game .. Arsenal 2 - 0 Portsmouth ..

ive watched them play a couple of times and they are an attacking team.

when you have lua lua kanu andy cole you are wanting to score goals. they are good in the air and they have an organized defence.

they play through the middle from what ive seen making most cross from the corner of the box instead of taking it down the wing.

i think glenn johnson is injured hes looked really good for a RB and he has a good touch and a good long ball so we are lucky if hes not playing.

2-1 to the arse.

Give Ade a rest. He's had too many games up front on his own. Go with JB & RVP, on the right, up front PUHLEASE!!!

----------Jens---------
Eboue-Toure-Djourou-Clichy
-------G.Silva------------
Hleb- Cesc - Freddie
RVP-----Baptista

Ade is the in-form striker. He will play well again, he might even score. People will still dislike him.

RvP will definitely come in for Freddie .. And will i see another 4-5-1 formation with the Beast playing the Flamini role ?! I think so .. Its high time Baptista gets a decent run of games, basically to come back to match fitness and sharpness ..
I don't see a battle in the midfield but i'm definitely concerned about their defense and David James .. Somehow, we tend to get the best out of the opposition GK, in lots of games .. So i hope we somehow score an early goal and then shatter his confidence .. We really have to go with a 4-4-2 this time .. Maybe with RvP on the wing and Beast and Ade upfront ..

----------Ade---------------
---------------Beast--------
-RvP--Cesc--Gilberto--Hleb-
Clichy-Toure-Senderos-Eboue
----------Jens--------------

And i wonder how Toure will cope with Sol if he really plays upfront for Pompey ..
