Korea and Japan have seperate leagues.
MLS and the J league are about equal in my mind.
the K-League sucks.

before the world cup, I thought that the K-league must have sucked... the Korean team had never done anything and few Korean players played on teams I was able to see.
Of course, I've never actually seen a K-league game and in the world cup, it was obvious that at least some of the best K-league players were pretty solid. Even if you think Korea's whole world cup run was a fluke, you have to admit that the players were fast and had some skill. So, now, it's obvious: the K-league doesn't suck. The teams might not be very deep, but the top players are good.
Now, how we're supposed to compare the K-league to MLS, I have no clue...

I think MLS is better than J-K League. The J-League has better financial structure than both MLS and K-League. However, the K-League dominated Asian Championship. They won it liked 6 out of the last ten. I think the J-League is better than the K-League, but it seemed that J-League teams cannot beat K-League teams. So I would have K-League having a slight edge over J-League. Then, I do not think K-League is better than MLS.
So I will go for MLS.

that's true. But IMO, the three leagues are the same. The K-League is faster and much rougher than the other two. The J-League seems more technical. The MLS being somewhere in the middle.
But all in all, the three are pretty much the similar. It's just the difference in playing styles. (ex:Players who are slow and prone to injuries should not go to the K-League. etc..)

On the same token, how many of the people saying MLS sucks have ever been to a MLS game?
They're all about the same standard, IMHO. The San Jose Earthquakes would be a title contender in the J-League or K-League. DC United (as they are now) would be fighting to avoid relegation in the J-League and fighting to stay out of last place in the K-League.

I attend Galaxy games sometimes (Not that often tho like once in a month). Even tho they dont win much as they used to, I like their style of game. (they try to score all the time)
I have no clue who would win if MLS teams and K or J league teams play each other.
but about the league, J-league would be more stable than the others. more teams, more fans, more players, and more $$$.
MLS and K-league teams have 10 teams only, no relegation either..

I agree with you. The J-League is the most successful financially, and keeps increasing fans. If the J-League didn't exist, Japan wouldn't be an emerging football nation. 10 clubs without relegation are too few, especially in this vast land called the USA.
As for the league standard, I dunno, LA lost to Urawa and Verdy in training matches after beating the Chinese national team (?), but we need more inter-league matches to make comparisons. I've watched the Earthquakes live, and I thought they play a nice football, although I rate Jubilo and Marinos higher. I've also watched other clubs on TV, like Columbus and NY/NJ, but it's hard to tell the difference between J and MLS. I know nothing about the K-League, so I wouldn't comment, sorry. Damn, I'll watch more world soccer if I could!
Japanese fans aren't that interested in Asian titles because they don't bring money to the clubs. I think it's sad.

J and K league are stronger than what most people think. Many national teams that attended this world cup got their ass kicked or alomst got their ass kicked by a practice match between teams from two Asian leagues.

I wouldnt say that we kicked @ss but we did manage to hassle them. Seongnam Ilhwa F.C shouldve beat Poland if it wasnt for their lack of finishing. Spain beat an amateur club 2-1 but tied Ulsan. I dont know the stories on Japanese clubs but I'm sure some MLS clubs could give some national sides problems.

the J-League teams also had very good results out of the World Cup teams. They Either won/tied/lost by a goal most of the times.

Those friendlies mean dogshi+.
If you really want to get down to it, K-League teams OWN the J-Leaguers in international competition.

Since this is a one league against two other leagues then ofcourse J&K League is better.
