One of my favorite scenes ever, the monster with human emotions and needs meeting up with the lonely blind man played by Gene Hackman.
Rest in peace.

Starred in two of the best, most underrated comedies of all time: Where the Buffalo Roam and Johnny Dangerously.

I instantly thought of Jonny Dangerously when I saw thread. Damn. His character on Raymond reminds me a lot of my Dad.

I do hope that Mr. Boyle teaches St. Peter that humorous jig in formal garb, Putting on the Ritz....

For those who've never watched that scene from Young Frankenstein, or who want to see it again in honor of Mr. Boyle...

Any of you all ever seen a movie called "Joe"?
The quintessential Peter Boyle movie.

Every time I hear "Puttin On The Ritz" I immediately think of Peter Boyle.
RIP
one of my fave all time shows was the short lived "Joe Bash" that was on for like 8 episodes in the late 80's, with Boyle as a burned out retiring NYC cop. Totally unique and crazy show, really well written, probably why it didnt last very long.

I wonder if the phrase "Veteran character actor" will appear before "Peter Boyle" on his headstone.

As a fellow Philadelphian and La Salle Graduate, it is a shame to hear that he passed away. To think that he went from being a Christian Brother, to being Joe, to being the monster, and then being Frank Barone, it is quite an accomplishment to say the least. Rest in Peace.

I read who his best man was at his wedding in the late 1970s:

Clearly Boyle was a more ecclectic person than many knew.

Boyle did a great job as 'Dillon' in a very underrated, crime-noir flick circa late '60's - early '70's style..."The Friends of Eddie Coyle." A fine Higgins book on Boston mobs and an even better movie. Great performances from Mitchum and Boyle.
