View Full Version : Jens Lehmann - social butterfly?

I'm all for being civil and courteous, but the incident Lampard refers to (if it did happen) leading into Sunday's derby at the Bridge is hilarious.
Lampard has been quick to hit back, telling The Sun: "We had words but Lehmann shows no respect to any one on the pitch - and I don't mean that just from my own perspective.
"He has a way of looking down his nose at people. I certainly didn't say anything that I feel warrants an explanation.
"For me, it's all in the heat of battle and nonsense to start talking to the media about it afterwards.
"But the other week myself and my cousin Jamie Redknapp were out to dinner in a London restaurant and Lehmann was sitting just feet from us on another table.
"We acknowledged him and he completely blanked both of us. In fact, when he left, we walked right past our table and didn't even have the decency to say anything - whether nice or rude!
"Perhaps Lehmann's just more sensitive than the rest of us."

Perhaps Jens was afraid Fat Frank Lampard would eat Jens' dinner.

Lampard has been quick to hit back, telling The Sun: "We had words but Lehmann shows no respect to any one on the pitch - and I don't mean that just from my own perspective. Gosh, perspective is a big word isn't it?
"He has a way of looking down his nose at people, this might be because he's tall and I'm short and fat. I certainly didn't say anything that I feel warrants an explanation, although I'm not sure what some of the words meant, I just copied them from stuff I read off Ashley Cole's wall round his house.
"For me, all the constant moaning and bitching to the ref is in the heat of battle and nonsense to start talking to the media about it afterwards, although that's exactly what I'm doing now. Besides someone might realise that I'm a thick twat who only strings the obvious football cliches together in a desperate attempt to look intelligent.
"But the other week myself and my cousin Jamie Redknapp were out to dinner in a London restaurant discussing who had the biggest diamond earing, which page 3 models we'd spit roasted recently, whether the latest ferrari looked better in yellow or green, and which mobile has the best vibrate facility and Lehmann was sitting just feet from us on another table.
"We acknowledged him and asked him whether he was still upset about the 66 world cup and 2 world wars and we couldn't believe it when he completely blanked both of us. In fact, when he left, we walked right past our table and didn't even have the decency to say anything - whether nice or rude!
"Perhaps Lehmann's just can't be arsed talking to pillocks like us."

LOL...gotta love the German.
My sister actually watched the past couple of matches with me and noticed some of his antics. She was like "Why does the goalie look mad all the time?" So I explained that he's really passionate, plays really hard, and so is very emotional. After the Chelski match, she declared that Mad Jens is her favorite player simply cause he's badass. :D

Smacks to me that Lampard and his England International cronies are so used to being fawned over by media/managers/refs that he can't comprehend why Lehmann wouldn't give a rats arse about being in the same restaurant as him.
And Miles - Id rep that if I could. Hilarious.

The funniest thing I found about Mad Jens is that even though he's obviously a psycopath and has probably killed a man or two in his lifetime (during a match, probably) is that he has the softest voice in the world. I didn't know Germans can be soft-spoken, however, Jens is. See, he's already broken down some racial barriers and negative stereotypes.
Stand Up. Speak Up.

Maybe Mad Jens was just pissed off because his dinner wasn't very good! Plus, who could have an appetite with Lampard sitting close to you. All Hail Mad Jens!!!

You might fool the fcuks in the league office, but you don't fool Jens. This bush league psyche-out stuff. Laughable, man - ha ha! I would have fcuked you in the ass Saturday. I fcuk you in the ass next Wednesday instead. Wooo! You got a date Wednesday, baby!"

haha, my sister saw the part in the Chelsea match where Jens stood up face to face with Lampard after the goal-line debacle and commented: "He's really calmed down"
...............i had to rewind and show her the Drogba incident 5 mins prior :D

well, after the save today (I will not reveal the final score, though), Lehmann can be best friends with All Saints and I'll still think he is fantastic.
Plus, as a former hockey fan, I love how scrappy he is.

There are times I wish Jens were dosed with an exceptionally high amount of Ritalin to calm his ass down.

I have a friend who "supports" Chelsea. Nice guy but everytime i meet him, i always have to say "Wassup Chelsea fcuk" and then continue the conversation .. Well, atleast Lehmann's better than me, he doesn't say stuff that sounds rude ..
