The one and only from 1951, with Alastair Sim.

And a delightful 1962 cartoon version with terrific songs from Jule Styne and Bob Merrill.

I grew up with Home Alone I and II, so they will always be my favorites.
On another note, interesting that two really different Christmas classics, A Christmas Story and Black Christmas were directed by the same fellow.

Some great ones listed above, but I am shocked that Christmas Vacation hasn't been mentioned yet, its tied top of my list w/ A Christmas Story.

Anyone ever seen I'll Be Home for Christmas, 1989 (made for TV)? Set during WW2, in a small New England town (shot in Rockport, MA), with Courtney Cox, Nancy Travis, Peter Gallapher, Hal Holbrook and Eve Marie Saint - not bad. I liked it when I saw it years ago, but don't see it replayed much.

A Muppet Christmas Carol is sort of amusing.

All of mine have been claimed already. (Love, Actually; Bad Santa).
And I'm glad to see that I'm not, contrary to what I've always believed, the only person who actually liked "Scrooged."

are you serious? i've always viewed it something of a cult classic. granted, i wasn't a fan of it the first time, but i was young and dumb. over time i've seen it so many times... it's a classic, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. "would you please... for the love of god... stop... the... hammering!"
also, christmas vacation has to be watched at least once every year. there's just so many quotable lines... and the best part just might be the very beginning. the song by mavis staples combined with the cartoon... totally ace.

the part when santa bumps the gas lever with his foot and fire flames up his backside... his facial reaction there floors me everytime. i'll even rewind it a few times.
"buuuurn dust ... eat my rubber."
i still haven't gotten around to seeing bad santa ... maybe i'll make a point to do that this week.
