There aren't many teams I hate more than 'the academy'. I love taking three points from the cockernee gubbas because I know it winds up their pretentious fans and most of the southern media. For all their bluster about playing football 'the way it should be played' they like to lump it up to the big man as much as anyone else in the league which is why Marlon Harewood plays so often.

Ricardo Gardner is likely to be on the bench, the rest of the team should be unchanged.

We've hit a run of very poor form recently and I think this game is another banana skin. I'll bet that Tevez get's his first goal of the season at the Reebok this afternoon. In all truth I reckon it'll be a draw.

Whatever. Here's to a good hard game. May the best team win. (and please dont post 'we will' - and that applies to my lot an all!)

4-0

Campo hit the post with the last kick of the game.

We played some very, very good football but let's see what the media write.

The West Ham forum is already producing some real gems, just like the Arsenal forum did after we beat them. There must be something with London teams that results in myopia.

Feel free to read the West Ham forum but do not post there, come back here to gloat/mock :D

We accept gracious posters, not to turn this into a discussion about West Ham but where do you see them going from here? Surely Pardew should have gone earlier in the season.

Personally, I still rate Pardew but knives are being sharpened. We've forgotten how to pass and move and unless we learn that again, and quickly, the only way is down

Hmmm... I never really rated Pardew, he seems to have just got lucky at the right points and managed to stay in the job. Tactically I think he's lacking and I really doubt he's the type of manager with the 'clout' to handle players like Tevez and Mascherano. IMO West Ham would be better with a bigger name in charge but for as long as they only keep appointing managers with a connection to the club I think they're going to struggle. The players are there, it's the upper levels that are the problem IMHO.

Sadly I think that Stelios is past his best and I can only see him leaving, perhaps even as early as January.

I doubt it, he's 32 now and with the arrival of Anelka he's having to compete with Davies and Diouf. He's been steadily declining for a while now, it's simply his age catching up with him.

Shame really. I agree with the swap for Mascherano, he can be cover for Speed.

Yeah it's always good to beat West Ham. Academy of 'proper' football my arse. I don't know what Pardew's playing at. Mascherano and Tevez are good enough to start for Argentina but not West Ham? Or maybe he just doesn't know how to use them, that's more than likely.

That's eight goals the spam have conceded in their last two visits, can't wait for the return game!
