With 20 minutes gone, David Sommeil has scored for City, who seem to be having the best of it.

Kellar just made what the City announcers just described as a great save.

A much improved City came out with all guns blazing, when Sommeil scored after less then 3 minutes Anelka and Wright-Phillips had both missed great chances to put City ahead in the first minute. And after Joey Barton scored his first senior goal halfway through the first half city controlled the rest of the match comfortably.

The big plus point of this match was the performance of City’s youngsters Wright-Phillips and Barton. Especially Barton looked great considering this was only his third senior appearance.

On the downside Keegans preferred strikeforce Anelka/Fower looks less then potent at the moment, Fowler was just plain awful, Anelka looked better than in previous matches but apart from his chance in the first minute he never came close to scoring.

There seems to be a concensus that he was City's best player in the 1st two, and Gary Owen and the other radio guy on Friday seemed very pleased with him overall.

Conversely, they talked about Anelka as finally looking slightly less comatose than he apparently has in a while, and Fowler was rarely mentioned, except when he making a mistake in the attacking end.
