Hasn't anyone told you, 6 is the new 1. Especially if the Steelers are third.

If Chelsea want so be the biggest team in the world by 2014 they better step to it. They haven't even cracked the top ten. Nosferatu will not sleep easy tonight.

No. Just because you are one of the most popular teams worldwide, never finished out of the top2 for almost a decade, had the only undefeated season in any major league for over 100 years, constantly fill up a 60000 seater stadum, and are the 4th most valuable team on the planet behind manutd, madrid, and milan doesn't make you a big team.

Didn't they teach you anything in grade school??:D

Remember, Dortmund ARE a big team, we are still in the minor leagues.

I can't believe you are posting this. You surely don't need the validation that much.
I have to assume that a search like this leaves out clubs like Barcelona and Chelsea because they come up as geographical locations, not just sports clubs.

My question is- was arsenal always this popular?

I lived in England in early 2000, and fell into the loving arms of Arsenal due to friends there. Since that time it seems as though Arsenal have gotten exponentially more popular (particularly here in the US) than they were when I first starting watching the matches. They seem to have even eclipsed many Italian and Spanish clubs in popularity (madrid, barca, both milan clubs)

To all you old school Arsenal fans out there- in the last five/ten years have there been way more bandwagon jumpers and fans?

Personally Arsenal were never really a fashionable side. It was Liverpool for many years then ManU. Arsenal were a good side that didn't have the levels of success that those 2 did. (our period was back in the 30's!!) I think since Wenger's arrived, and we've been playing the 'prettiest' football in the league, we've become more popular. Whether it's that or our greater level of success that has gathered us more fans, I don't know, I hope it's the former, but I suspect it's the latter. Personally it has definitely become harder to get tickets since Wenger came along.

I would be interested to see a list from a more global site like Google rather than Yahoo.com which is predominately used by Americans.

If anything yahoo is the more international of the two. The percentage of people in the US who use yahoo is dwarfed by those who use google.

But that argument doesn't actually mean that yahoo is the more international. The terms of your arguement are Yahoo vs Google, whereas they should America vs the rest of the world...

Even if 5:1 people use Google vs Yahoo in the USA, if the ratio is 10:1 everywhere else, then Google is more international, and Yahoo would be predominately used by Americans.

Yahoo caters a lot more to internationals than google does. I don't see why a larger portion of internationals would use google over yahoo.

Everyone I know uses Google 1st, but it's a small section. However I wasn't disagreeing with your point, just your argument you were using to make it...

My wife works for Yahoo. Yahoo was a World Cup sponsor. Got tickets to World Cup through Yahoo. Yahoo good. Google bad.

I did meet a few non-US based Yahoo employees in Germany so Yahoo does have some international reach.

I'm stunned that the Chicago Bears are more popular than Real Madrid!!!
Damn, the end is near. That was the 7th sign of the apocolypse!

More people in the US use Google rather than Yahoo but the vast majority of Yahoo users are still American. Google is used predominately by almost every nation.

Evidently, that isn't true in Asia, where Yahoo dominates Google in usage.
