How I Met Your Mother would have been better, but this is great in 2 ways; CBS obviously smells blood in the water with Lost stumblin', bumblin' and fumblin' along and this will be a perfect opportunity to apply a KO punch, and second, they steel themselves up for taking on American Idiot Karaoke when that cancer returns next month.

i doubt it will be a KO punch.
people want to dog on Lost for not being the cultural phenom that it was in Season 1 but the fact is every network would kill to have that show as is. it still gets great ratings, has a loyal fan base ... and people are writing it off.

just don't get it.

I'd never seen Lost and my wife and I started watching Season 1 on DVD. Does it start sucking in Season 2?

there were a few widely acknowledged problems with season 2:
1. it was like a hollywood movie sequel -- they tried to pack in too many new characters, new plotlines ... everything was bigger! but was it better? I don't know. it got a bit confusing (more on that later)
2. they asked too many question and gave too few answers. of course, on a show like this it's all about the mysteriers. but it seemed like there were too many loose ends out there. it was frustrating watching them introduce new storylines without wrapping up old ones. plus it was hard to keep track of (more on this now).
3. they broke the season up too much when they aired it. they'd air two new shows take a couple weeks off. three new shows, three repeats. so it was hard to keep track of what was going on. the show never built momentum.
you won't have that problem if you watch it on DVD ... you can watch them all in one weekend if you wanted to. so you might have a very different take on the season than those of us who watched it live.
Overall it was a good season, but the first sesaon was GREAT. it suffers by comparision. but I still found it to be good TV.

I've thought of adding season two to my netflix queue to see if it improves upon watching it in a timely manner.

hope this helps.

are you enjoying season 1?
