When/if are we going to get these two lads locked up to long-term extensions?
The ceiling for these two is virtually limitless, especially considering the top-flight competition they'll face week in and week out in the Prem.
Do they want to stay and help make Reading one of the top clubs in the EPL?

Sidwell is iffy. It seems as if he wants to try to move to a bigger club, but with the way the team is doing now..he may be more likely to stay. Hopefully he does.
I think Doyle signed a new contract recently..I think it runs through 2009, if I remember right. After the Fulham game a reporter asked Coppell about Doyle and he talked about how he was rubbish, as a joke of not wanting anyone to "find out" about him.

I'd love to see it. In the same article, when asked if Reading had been to Europe, Coppell responded that "we went to Sweden in the preseason". I love that man...

Anyone got a figure on Reading's payroll total? I want to have a big grin on my face when I tell my friend, the Chelsea bandwagon jumping supporter, how much it costs to sit sixth on the table. :D

cause doyle is rubbish.......3 of his goals were penalties, one this weekend was an open header.....that other goal he scored was pure luck. so screw those goals, and i'd like to congratulate him with the 3 deserving goals he has this season

Wow you couldn't be any more incorrect. That PK that he drew versus Fulham, for instance, was the result of pure class and a deft touch.
The kid can straight out score and he's only going to get better.

Did Sidwell ask for pds 17k a week, according to the rumors, or was it more than that? In any case, a lot more than Reading have ever paid anyone.
With the tv money next year, I think they'll be willing to pay the man. But with the season he's having, the price is probably going up (and he's free in June, so the offer will have to be very good).
The only problem, for Reading, with paying him, is that Doyle deserves as much, as does Sonko, and then the others can't be far behind, it's essentially reconfiguring the entire wage bill. But, it will have to be done.
Doyle has been signed on longer, similar to Convey's new deal. Wouldn't mind going past 09, though.
But what kind of offers are going to come in for him, both in january and this summer?

It's a measure of society to see how each treats its mentally enfeebled. I believe they can play a full part in society, performing a meaningful role. Crash test dummies is my preference, but minefield clearing in war zones is another option. Just give 'em a pogo stick and watch them hop out to oblivion with a smile on their faces. It's enough to warm your heart, or perhaps burn it if the mine's too close.
