Guys, we get to go to Shitenkirchen and beat the hell out of "Die Krappen" next Sunday!!! :D
While we will be missing Kruska because he earned his fifth yellow card of the season against Wolfsburg, Scheisse will be missing their captain Marcelo Bordon because he also earned his fifth yellow yesterday in Nuernberg.
Scheisse has played well without Bordon this season, but we've also played well in away matches we weren't expected to get anything out of.
And the Derby is the Derby!!
Would be a great time to see Valdez finally break his scoring drought!!!
Come on!!! Let's get behind the team for this Derby!!!

I seriously doubt that we can count on that bit of luck we got against Wolfsburg to reappear, so we need to replicate that form we had against Bremen, and Aachen....
We'll also see how the BvM announcement affects the team's play. Will they rally around their coach or just go through the motions...I seriously hope NONE of them takes their foot off the gas...

I'll take the Bremen form. They were f#cking horrible against Wolfsburg. And they know if they are killed in a derby, the fans will f#cking kill them.
One thing I f#cking HATE about this team we have this season is that they always talk, talk, talk about what they "know they have to do", but then they NEVER f#cking go out and do the shit!
We'll also see how the BvM announcement affects the team's play. Will they rally around their coach or just go through the motions...
I really don't see anything changing much. They just aren't good enough and they don't give a good enough effort.
Frankfurt was the first time in a long time I thought they just played badly. They played worse against Wolfsburg.
I can see them going to Gelsenkirchen, getting spanked, not showing up against Leverkusen the next week and BvM leaving during the winter break.
I don't THINK or HOPE that is what will happen, but I know there's a real possibility it COULD.....
I seriously hope NONE of them takes their foot off the gas...
For one thing, only Frei, Smolarek, Amedick, Woerns and Dede seemingly have their "foot on the gas" right now. That's one of the major problems.
"smithfan" calls Lincoln a "diva", but right now, we've got about half of our field players on the pitch every weekend who act like they don't want to get their shirts dirty in pursuit of three points!

Tidbit from last week.
Through yellow card suspensions, we will be missing Marc-Andre Kruska while S04 will have to do without their captain, Marcelo Bordon.

If the projected lineups in "kicker" are correct, it looks like Degen will return to the lineup against Scheisse with Kringe returning to midfield.
It also looks like Sahin will play in front of the defense in place of the suspended Kruska.
Our projected lineup according to "kicker":
The positions are my best guess.
Goalkeeper: Weidenfeller
Right Back: Degen
Central Defenders: Amedick, Woerns
Left Back: Dede
Sweeper/D-Mid: Sahin
Midfield: Tinga, Kringe
Strikers: Valdez, Frei, Smolarek
Bench: Pirson (GK), Brzenska, Amoah, Pienaar, Saka, Huenemeier, Tyrala
Out: Kehl, Ricken, Metzelder (All getting fit again after injuries)
Kruska (Yellow Card Suspension)

good to see Saka and Tyrala on the bench..I'd like to see them get some playing time, but usually when the subs see the field it isn't a good thing...
Amedick has a chance to solidify himself as the third central defender. Looks like he's already done that and if Metzelder doesn't get back soon, he might be displaced!
The Tinga and Kringe Show will have to be magic...hopefully they can step up and get some good service for the forwards...
I'm looking forward to it! Bring on the Scheisse!

They've been on the bench for quite awhile now. But, Saka still plays for the amateurs while Tyrala rarely does anymore.

Amedick is already at least the third defender. And he has dibs on a starting spot when Woerns hangs them up. He's been outstanding since displacing Brzenska.
The Tinga and Kringe Show will have to be magic...hopefully they can step up and get some good service for the forwards...
I don't know if you follow the e-mail list anymore, but I'll tell you that I've seriously soured on Florian Kringe.
I know he doesn't like playing out of position at right back, but he showed last season the he could do it well and this season he seems to be "tanking" because he doesn't want to play there.
I hope we get two new midfielders and put Kringe's ass on the bench.
I'm looking forward to it! Bring on the Scheisse!
Yeah. I hope the team that played in Bremen shows up. Other than that, it could be a "Black Sunday" for us in Germany's #1 Shithole (Gelsenkirchen)

Oh yes, the neon colored team from that town close to Lüdenscheid will be visiting the finest soccer venue in Europe on Sunday. Maintain your current form and you can look forward to some InterToto action next summer, your first taste of Europe in a good few years. ;)
In all fairness, BVB has been playing some attractive football lately (even though it was a lucky win last week) and are catching the Königsblauen on the heels of a truly lame performance in Nürnburg last week. As I sign of sportsmanship, I will be drinking Brinkhofs (and not Veltins) as I watch the game on tv.
Viel Spaß!

If you had told me back in September that one of the trainers in the derby would be a lame duck, I would have assumed you were talking about Slomka!

I think you are correct there!! I would have felt the same thing.
However, BVB bought badly and I think BvM must have had something to do with that.
Valdez isn't worth 4.5M and Steven Pienaar has been a total failure so far. Frei hasn't produced as we'd hoped, but I think his problems are a product of the others not producing.
Then there are the injuries. For me, the main ones are Kehl and Ricken. Especially Kehl. He's the closest thing we have to a true leader as a field player.
You might ask why not Metzelder? Because as far as I'm concerned, Martin Amedick is doing just as good of a job, if not a better one, than Metzelder would have done.
However, the almost complete failure of our midfield and strikers is what's killing us.
And it is why despite the banter back and forth, I am not afraid to admit that on paper, you guys should win this match.
However, the hope we have is that the matches aren't played on paper.
We BVB fans can only hope for the team to give a performance like we did in Bremen and not like the last two against Frankfurt and Wolfsburg.
BTW, what's the real news with Schalke and Lincoln?? Is Lincoln going to stay after this season??
If you guys let him go, I think, or rather I HOPE he would be next "Andy Moeller" situation! LOL!! :D

I certainly can't shed any light on the Lincoln situation. I hope he stays around (assuming he can stay healthy) but I do get the feeling he has fallen out of favor with the powers that be to some degree.
I always get dismayed when the Blues are in one of these "clear winner on paper" situations, that is often the omen of a bad performance to come. Like I say, after watching the lame showing in Nürnburg last week, nothing will surprise me.
BVB have indeed done a good job managing the injuries, but you will get no sympathy on bad signings. Halil Altintop has make it a hat trick of consecutive high profile transfers having weak debut seasons after Kuranyi and Ailton.
I definitely won't argue with you about the fact that Gelsenkirchen is a dump (except for Buer). I moved to Essen last year and seldom return except for a match.

I'm hearing rumors that BVB made Schalke an offer and more will be known sometime after the Derby.
But, the guys who are telling me this are not my best sources for news. They are also Schalke fans, but they like to joke a lot too.
A guy on our BVB e-mail list says in this past SportBild, Watzke said something to the effect that if Schalke doesn't want Lincoln, we already have his best friend on our team and Lincoln wouldn't even have to move. I assume that really means, "If he's available, we want him......."

Well, I think in Nuernberg last week, both teams were feeling a bit more pressure from the fans with the big friendship and all.......

Yeah, but Altintop so far is a bit more consistent than Kuranyi or Ailton in the Schalke shirt.
I actually think you guys' best striker is Soren Larsen myself :D

Don't know Buer myself, but it sounds like you have the same feelings about Gelsenkircken as I do about my hometown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Philly is not a total "dump", but you won't catch me back there except for an occassional visit.......

So do I! I wish he could stay healthy, we never have him when we need him.
I only lived in Gelsenkirchen for a year, but I have been a Schalke fan since I watched the "Eurofighters" conquest of the UEFA Cup in 96/97. I was living in Prague at the time and all of the matches were shown on TV there because they had Latal and Nemec (as well as my American hero Tom Dooley). I took a job in the region a couple of years ago to be able to follow them up close! :D It was also handy for watching the World Cup this year.

This should be a really good game. Hopefully we can score early and put them on their heels. I'm feeling a win here. :)

So who is number 1 ?!!!
Everytime I read such bullshit, I watch this little video clip:
"4 Minuten im Mai...." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If0-_QIZ47E)
And these three heros will once be remembered as the ones who made the big party on May 18th 2008 possible:

Surely not FC Meineid. It should be a club that has won one of the world's most prestigious cups...like:

Haven't checked lately, but how often have Schlacke won the one or other cup? Can't remember.....
What I can remember are my sweet moments on that May night in 1997 in Munich's Olympiastadion.
How and where did you celebrate your last Champions League title?...........Last night?..........On your playstation? *lol*
