So its 4 wins in a row, 12pts and Reading well in the top half of the league tables.

Some lovely play, some scrappy play, a Little bit of luck, a lot of heart and Seol, a dash of Hunt, goals galore of Doyle, table spoon of Murty, three tea spoons of Sidwell, Oster the egg, knead the dough with Shorey then pound it with Sonko, sprinkle bit of Harper, bake it in a Gunnarsson or Ingimarsson, and make sure Hahnemann takes it out of the oven with his gloves on. Coppell ices it with a thin smile. And Bobs your uncle (if he had some balls, otherwise he's your auntie)

So Reading has baked a cake, hoepfully they will be able to eat it too in the next 4 games.

whats your predictions?

Reading have been very lucky, but now teams like arsenal, liverpool, man city, and aston villa are waking up. A nice win today by bolton who have a reputation for losing to the lower teams while having some success with the top class teams. I think reading are gonna face loses now.

and i predict they finish on 11th by the end of the season, and if they don't get new players from the january market window, i say religation after 3 more seasons

any Reading fan will take 11th right now if offered. 11th is a dream for Reading. Dont be mistaken into thinking more than NOT being relegated (hopefully by a comfortable margin) is expected by Reading fans.

Expectations are well grounded. Its just at the moment Reading is exceeding expectations and fans are just enjoying the ride. No time to be all pessimistic and all gloom and doom, saying it wont last. Instead, its time to get a tan, do bit of gardening, have a barbecue etc. while the sun is out.

now i remember who "korean_soccer123" is.

hes a 17yr old American ManU fan and despite his moniker is not of Korean ethnicity.

apparently lived in the UK and he likes Park Ji-sung of ManU and hence decided to follow Korean football. He posts in the Korean forum but mostly its either annoying negative ilk you've already seen here or of banal nature.

It now seems he has decided to spread his wings and fly low in Reading forum.

hmm, so what you are saying is that in reality the rich elite clubs have better players than Reading, and come the end of the season will probably finish higher? An interesting theory. I'm amazed nobody has considered that before. I think you could be on to something there.

No way the boys lose to Watford. Maybe they lose to Newcastle, although they have not been in good form.

I predict 7 points from their next 4 matches...which would be fantastic.

But ya know, every damn one of those matches is winnable. It's just that you know they're going to have a couple of breaks go against them, as they're due.

Rovers will be a different side once Nelsen comes back from injury. But I doubt he'll be playing and fully fit. Reading are getting Rovers at a good time.

I'll say 5 from those four. Which puts us at 30 at the midpoint. Excellent.

No clue where the 5 will come from, though. I'll take a stab and say loss to Newcastle, tie Watford, and beat either Blackburn or Everton while tying the other.

I am gonna go with between 7 and 9 points. New Castle, Watford should be wins, Blackburn could go either way, I would rank a result against Everton = with our result against Bolton.

I consider 4 points out of the next 4 games, although at first sight seems not so great, to be actually acceptable given that 12pts + 4pts = 16 pts out of maximum of 24pts is not bad.

Of course if you simply extrapolate the 4 wins in a row on to the next 4 games you might as well predict another full brace of 12 pts giving Reading the full 24pts! What a nice Christmas present that would be. Imagine that! Unfortunately most of us either dont believe in Santa anymore or have been bad boys this year. ;)

But it pays dividends to be cautious. Reading is going to play 2 away games in a row then 2 home games. The two away games are on Wednesday (first midweek league fixture for Reading this season) and then on Saturday. That’s actually 3 league games within a space of 7 days.

Newcastle although 3rd from bottom is doing ok in UEFA (5 wins 1 draw). They also had no fixtures last Saturday and must be well rested. It’s a home game for Newcastle, they be coming out strong.

3 days later its another away game with Watford. Again near the bottom of the league. But they are still tough. Reading players will be slightly more tired than usual, what with all the traveling and the extra fixture midweek.

Then it’s the two home games. A win against Balckburn is in the cards and a draw against Everton is not unreasonable, im sure.

So if you break it down further

Newcastle A
Watford A
Two loses here would be disappointing, but I feel that Reading will go all out on Wednesday looking for a win and tire themselves out for Saturday. Of course if Reading does get one win out of these two then that’s fantastic.

Blackburn H Win
Everton H Draw
4 pts out of six here is infact quite good.

Im setting 4pts as the minimum that will allow Reading to have its cake and eat it too by Christmas.

5-7 pts will be the cake and pudding.

9 pts will add a glass of brandy.

10-12 pts. Christmas has come two days early for Reading fans.

Blackburn match, home, i predicted a win for Reading. hopefully that will be so.

Reading played very well against Newcastle, but the injuries in that game and the general resultant tiredness perhaps effected Reading 3 days later against Watford. If points were awarded for sheer entertainment and heart shown, Reading deserved a point or three for the Newcastle match which they didnt get, and perhaps less than a point for the Watford, which ironically they did get.

Lets hope the Blackburn match is a 3 pointer in content as well as end result for Reading!
