so, i've had my current computer for about a year and a half. I've used the USB port for my digital camera, mp3 player, etc. my bro plugged in his iPod earlier and got a "usb power surge" ballon in the bottom right of the screen. he unplugged the device and hit "restart" on the pop up and it didn't fix it. I tried it with my digital camera and same thing. anyone got any idea on how to fix this?

thats strange? is it directly to the comp or is it a usb hub? i think it may have burnt ur usb slot.

Well, clearly you shouldn't use that port anymore. It seems like a very bizarre thing to have happen. Do you happen to have a volt meter? That can help you determine if the problem is on only one port or something that is affecting every USB port on the computer.
