View Full Version : Can I safely shrink a jersey?

Aright, this might seem like a strange question, but: I'd like to make my jersey a half size smaller (this season Arsenal...I have it in medium). I realized I would actually prefer the small a few days before my return-window ran up, but I unfortunately do not live a commutable distance from my shop.
In any case, is it even worth trying? It fits half-decently, but it seems a little baggier than I'd like. If there's too much a chance of messing it up, I'll just leave it.
Thanks :)

To be honest, I've never followed washing instructions on football shirts. Bad I know. I got it from my mum, she used to TUMBLE DRY my kits. Ahhh I remember I used to shit myself thinking they would melt in the wash but they didn't. Anyway, I've never had an Arsenal top (or any other top) that has shrunk in the wash, so I think it would be pointless trying fella. Good luck if you decide to go ahead with it though!

If you do figure out a way, definately repost it back here, because I'd love to know... this past summer, I bought 2 jerseys that I adore from a guy on ebay, who definately either messed up, or lied to me about the sizes, and I couldn't get a refund... I still wear them occasionally, it just looks as if I'm wearing a dress.

Unless it's 100% unshrunk cotton, you're wasting your time. Why not hit the gym & add some lbs. of muscle instead? ;)

just leave it, if you try a hot wash and tumble dry, the end result will most likely be disfigured with slight discoloration.
