Univision will have the MLS/FMF "Champions League" tournament, which is a separate event from the InterLiga.

interliga is the all MFL competition to determine which mexican clubs play in the copa libertadores. the games are played in the US. it's "inter" as in "international competition slots are at stake" not "inter" as in "interconnected league competition"

MLS/SUM bought back the rights to the InterLiga from Univision Communications (TeleFutura) so that MLS/SUM can package the InterLiga with MLS as a bundle to sell to FOX Sports Int'l (FSI).

FSI basically paid for the InterLiga plus 4 US National Team friendlies (2 men, 2 women) each year and got MLS and the US Open Cup Final thrown in to the TV package for a nominal fee.
