Bayern Munchen withdraws from DFL!!!

But only from the working groups. Uli Hoeneß withdraws from playing commission, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge from NT commission and somebody else from another commission. Nothing to worry about, they are just damaging themselves by avoiding their chance to have influence in the league politics. Also today they are not taking part in the league meeting, but that way they just lose their right to vote.

I absolutely share the view of Schalke GM Rudi Assauer. Despite that he always was on side of Bayern in the whole matter, he now said: "Bayern should calm down. They are just making themselves ridiculous at the moment. What do they want with all their threats? What happens if they don't want to play Bundesliga? Nothing, we can go on without them if it's that what they want, but they can't go on without us."

That's the bottom line for me as well. Let them be furious, do their threats, they are in vain. The league has the unique chance to establish an own profile, they shouldn't waste it by giving in easily. With the agreement of Bayern and DFL to pay 3M, DFL was generous enough.

After Bayern said that every club wouldn't be satisfied with DFL, the league today asked for a confidence vote at the club meeting. Result: 35-0 in favour of DFL - slap in the face of Bayern Munich.

League Director Wilfried Straub told on a press conference that some remarks were unlucky, but Bayern shouldn't act like sissies as many at the meetings had to face heavier insults by the Bayern officials in the past. Also, they stressed that Bayern was using the media and the public over weeks in this matter and always changing their mind according to the things that got known to the public; DFL always was silent and felt a necessity to state their view of the things (=moral fault by Hoeneß and Bayern, parts of the contract illegal, but agreement as a long trial would just kill the reputation of DFL, Bayern and soccer in general).
