Hey there,

I just made this video of me taking some free-kicks today and I'm really proud of it!

Tell me what you think!

Thanks:)

You have to edit in the shadow of the ball [after the kick] to make it look more realistic.

Unless of course those are legit, then keep up the good work. ;)

Haha, not those are all completely real....I'm not good enough with computers to make flight paths of balls change!:p

How far out are you on the first few?

They do look completely fake though. I've never seen someone flight the ball like that before. But then again I've never been to South Africa!

Its the end of the season right now so the goals are on the side of the field and I am kicking from the centre spot of the field...so how much is that?

Haha, its all completely real...but you're not the first person to think that. I just can do it...:o

Its not that hard with a bit of practice. You just strike the ball on the side aswell as striking up the ball with the inside of your boot. Its like when you kick the ball up higher, the ball comes down faster, so if you direct the 'uppness' of the ball to the side, it does that!

Oh, I can swerve ;) I just am puzzled as to how someone can get that trajectory and make it a reliable shot. Good on you though, keep practicing.

Mostly just practice.

Yip, althought that was the second time in 3,5 months that I had practiced free-kicks. It has alot to do with visualising the measurements in your head and carefully watching the exact spot on the ball you want to hit...and of course follow through...but that is all down to original practice I guess.

Thanks man. I'm a left-back and sadly I only scored two goals this season!

One was a free kick on the edge of the box which I bent around the wall and went in on the nearpost.
The other goal was when I get fouled on the halfway-line. I took it from there and it went in over the keeper...lucky though!
Another one which I nearly scored was for the far post and it looked as if it was going far out and every1 was waiting for it to just fly out, and then it bent in and hit the junction of the upright and crossbar.

I took the corners and goalkicksfor my team aswell, but then I overplayed and injured my ankles, and when I was finally fit again I was only allowed to take a few FK's...but I think I have improved my technique since then.

Last year I used by Birthday money to buy a net and I practiced kicking in my garden the whole of the Christmas holidays.

In January I then went to serious pre-season training run by a Navy Fitness Officer with my club's senior squad and got myself really fit. We had it twice a week.

Then the season started and I trained with the seniors and trained with my under-17 team as well...and I played for my school team.

I ended up training Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (+ school match), Thursday, Friday and Saturday matches!
I ended up totally overplaying and my ankles got really messed up for two months.

Anyways, my team won the league but now the season is finished and I'm back to kicking in my garden and playing little games with mates.
