Right now....

Best player is Markus Proll of Frankfurt with 2.38 in 8 games.
Best field player is Diego of Werder Bremen with 2.69 in 13 games
He is incidently followed by Tunisian international Jawhar Mnari () with a 2,77 in 11 games
The top 2 goalscorers Marko Pantelic and Mario Gomez (coming into the week) are 41st and 5th respectively.
Naldo and Mertesacker are the two best rated defenders
Best transfer of the season to kicker has been Pavel Pardo, the Mexican international, who has a 3.00
The worst player (and I thought this was a bit funny) has been Roque Santa Cruz of Bayern Munchen with a 4.63, followed by Mahdvikia and Arnold Bruggink.

So what do you think of the kicker ratings?

That Benjamin fellow, emergency RB for HSV, will give Santa Cruz a run for his money if he keeps on playing.

So what do you think of the kicker ratings?

Well, they are obviously subjective and lack consistency, as every game is judged by another guy (whoever writes the match report) - one shouldn't treat them as gospel, but they are good to get a general idea, I guess. I think they are usually to strict, though - it's nearly impossible for a player to get a 2,XX average for the entire season.

Obviously as the season progresses, averages will get more accurate - the fewer games are played, the more impact a single bad game will have.

Don't worry, here are so many people that post despite knowing nothing about football at all that not knowing Mnari isn't really all that significant ;).

Actually the only thing I really know about Mnari is that he scored against Spain in the World Cup for Tunisia :D

The only reason I remember that was because I was at my friends house about to say "Puyol is the best defender in the World Cup..." and he got totally owned by someone that led to the goal. Man did I have to drink alot after that :( But I wasn't alone,:D

Well, Bruggink was terrible in the first 8 games or so, he looked like he wouldn't even cut it in the 2. Bundesliga, the game was way too fast for him, I was really shocked.

Seems like he really improved over the last few games though, maybe he just needed the time to settle in and understand the Bundesliga.

Of course the ratings are not always spot-on but the more games the more meaningful they become.

The thing that irks me is that everytime a goalie doesn't have a lot to do he always gets a three. I think 96 played 1:0 or 0:0 5 times this season and Enke got a 3 four times and only once a 2.
On the other hand it's the same for other keepers I guess execpt for those that play behind a terrible defense and have a lot of work.

He's been very solid, makes more or less no errors, can always be relied upon.

I'm glad to have him and Osorio in Stuttgart :)
