View Full Version : Stocking Stuffers.

Christmas is here. Do you know a soccer player that deserves a lump of coal in his (or her) stocking this year? Consider a pink card instead. It's identical to the referee's yellow and red cards with the notable exception that it's bright fluorescent pink. At $2 each (plus reasonable shipping/handling) they make great stocking stuffers. We're also happy to send a pink card directly to the player (or players) of your choice. Visit us at www.gofarpost.com to order.

It's not a scam. We're not trying to take advantage of anyone. This seemed like a way for soccer fans to have a little fun at a players' expense. It's not malicious or hateful. We're looking for ways to introduce the pink card to a larger audience and thought that the "Equipment and Gear" forum was the most logical place to post our product on Big Soccer. You can help us out by telling us what you think. If you think the pink card is a bad (or dumb) idea, that's fine - but tell us why you think it's a bad (or dumb) idea. We're adults, we can take the criticism. We've sold quite a few (including Europe), so there must be some folks out there that thought it was an OK idea anyway. Thanks for your help in advance.

Well if every1 had them in the crowd like it says in the ideal world, it may be effective, but that is highly unlikely, and if you pulled one out you'll probably just end up looking like a loner and loser and realise that it wasn't such a cool idea in the first place.
But, it would be nice if the money went where is supposedly is supposed to be going, but otherwise I think this idea is a bit...lame, sorry to sound harsh. It seems pretty childish and not that funny really. Maybe its me but I just don't get it?!

It's to let a player know that you think he's playing the game like a "sissy" (the actual simile has saltier language). We'd heard local fans during a game shout to the referee, the manager or the other fans to show a player a pink card "because he was playing like a girl". Since many of the girls play the game harder and rougher than many of the boys, we decided that it wasn't right to say that, so we modified it a little bit. We thought that the home fans would enjoy needling a player on the opposing side (or maybe even one of their own) for diving or weak play. And let's face it, can you think of a less masculine color than pink? Again, thanks for your input.

If a kid has been bad, shouldn't they get a red? Where does the pink come in with soccer, there is no pink card in soccer. I play soccer and if I got that in my stocking I would just ask why I got girly pink stationary.
