I have an HP computer with a video card that supports the HP f2105 monitor,
but the computer does not have a DVI socket.

Would that seriously degrade the quality of the displayed image?

Is it feasible to replace the socket?

If your HP PC only has a VGA connector, you could get a video card with a DVI output. All add-in video cards now has a DVI output, you just have to know which one will fit in your machine.

I am sure that monitor could handle a signal from a VGA connector too, you won't notice anything if you have the monitor running at a very low resolution, but I wouldn't use the standard VGA connector if you want you monitor outputting at a high resolution.
