Some games on the 2003 schedule on MLSnet are marked down as 'ENG' as the TV host.

Anybody have any idea what this is?

Thanks!
Laurence

ENG stands for (I think) Electronic News Gathering. Basically, it's the feed that is shown inside the stadium. This allows teams to make highlights available to local and national TV.

Last year, MLS used the ENG feed, coupled with a radio commentary, to put a game on the Shootout in the playoffs that neither team could get a local broadcaster to carry. They have decided to do that again, although I'm not certain what kind of audio will accompany those games this year.

Same as the San Jose/Columbus playoff game last year. There is no broadcast of the game, and MLS is enhancing the normal archival footage shot of every game with graphics, maybe an extra camera, and possible some play by play.
