Microsoft launched their online video service today, available on the XBox Live Marketplace. You can download tv shows and rent movies in HD or in standard format. I'll have to check it out when I get home.

If you can rent them, I wonder how long it'll be until you can buy them. If I download a movie, what restrictions are there? Could I burn it onto a DVD?
And, is HD the same price as SD?
Let us know how this works out.

HD is more than SD, here's the pricing scheme:
New releases
* 720p HD movies -- 480 MS Points ($6)
* 480p SD movies -- 320 MS Points ($4)
"Classic" feature film
* 720p HD movies -- 360 MS Points ($4.50)
* 480p SD movies -- 240 MS Points ($3)
Television purchase
* 720p HD television -- 240 MS Points ($3)
* 480p SD television -- 160 MS Points ($2)
TV shows you can keep, the movies I believe are rentals.
You can't burn it to a DVD, it's only through the 360.
