I like this one... maybe even something like "We Bleed Blue, And Our Faith's True" as a phrase to consider.
something like this?

Just for some clarifaction, Craig and I rewrote a Chelsea song with New England Revolution lyrics and part of is it "Our blood is blue and we would leave you never".

Ok, Evan, Jim and Craig ... great job by all three of you (and others that have contributed ideas). This scarf might be the best set of ideas we've come up with.
BTW, I want a few of the not-serious scarves as well! Anything with Family Guy, I'm in!

The only thing that concerns me with Family Guy references is that they're going to age poorly--to me, these seem like much better ideas for banner slogans (that'll get swapped in and out every season or two) than scarves to be collected year after year.

The small phrase as used in the Riders scarf is fine. Family Guy has enough episodes to have a spin-off echo and will be well-known for another decade. High school students will know more about the show than the american revolution for some time to come.
Are you afraid you'll go nuts trying to explain four little words on a scarf twelve years from now?
BTW, "Freakin Sweet" was more of a take on the people the show's creator grew up with than something he created.
Edit: Sorry, didn't notice the quote you were responding to. Even if we wanted to go with a stewie scarf, we'd get arrested for selling them.

Freakin' Sweet is one thing--I get that it's based on local argot--but I'm just not wild about us making up scarves with TV catchphrases on them, as just making catchphrase references gets old real fast.

Not arrested, just a cease and desist and possibly orders to destroy any we'd printed up.

I'm not saying we should use the likeness of Stewie or Peter, just the phrase. Because those phrases are fantastic! Or should I say "freakin' sweet!" :D

You know, the phrases might be considered intellectual property of the partular studio that produces the program, and as such, would have control over their use in commerce. Perhaps a lawyer could better explain this...

I'm no lawyer, but several classes in nuclear power school made their own t-shirts. The t-shirt shop on base wouldn't make a Simpsons design that was way too good. They had contacted Fox when after a class wanted one. If I remember correctly, they were told that the studio doesn't have a copyright on the english language. They also didn't have the copyright on a guy with a round yellow head. However, an exact quote specifically from the show along with the likeness of a character from the show would definently be copyright infringement.
Long story short, the shop would print out a small Homer, dressed differently, being thrown from a nuke plant blowing up as long there were no other simpson references. They would also print mottos based on Homer quotes as long as they were altered.
I'd be worried if it was just "Freakin Sweet" in large letters on the scarf. "We Are Freakin Sweet" should be different enough. I'd still contact the appropriate people, though.

"Stand up for the boys in blue" would also be a phrase that could be incorporated.

I don't think many know what we're singing. More people singing it, we can replace that "stand up, boom boom, stand up" chant.

fwiw, i watched conan o'brien last night and apparently they did an episode where he mentioned a fake website called hornymanatee.com, and according to NBC rules & regs, if he names a site that doesnt exist they have to buy the rights to that name.
so NBC has a 10-year rights for www.hornymanatee.com
i thought it was hilarious
