Ok so I did some poking around for car flags...I sent out a few emails seeking price quotes, too.

I was thinking we get the following...
The Continental (Traditional Flag of New England)
Commodore Perry (Don't Give up the Ship) - Blue matches our colors and the phrase is bad ass and it just looks really cool.
Checkered white/blue/red ...this can be worked out..

I wreckon we get the Continental as a Car Flag...or we can see about using the Riders Logo...

The price structure works like this...

We'll have to pay a "setup" or "design fee" to make one and then the rest cost a ton less. We have options too. Do we want to get the cheap economy kind or the more durable kind?

For 50 cheap car flags with three colors this will cost...$316.90 total
For 50 quality car flags with three color this will cost $544.40

For 50 cheap car flags with two colors - $272.80
For 50 quality car flags with two colors - $482.80

When I say quality it means the flag is double sided so it will wear and rip slower. This is irreleveant if people are not going to drive a lot with them on and just use them at the stadium.

These prices include flag poles. This was one of the better quotes I found. I haven't heard back from anyone yet so i'll keep ya posted.

Thoughts?

We brought this up during the meeting ... I like the idea of Riders car flags, and if we're going to do it, it should be the high quality stuff because the others rip way too easily.

I know I mentioned this because it was mentioned during the meeting. Its just some ideas of what we'd have to throw down in order to get stuff like this. I would also like to see a checkered flag for us in the stands maybe...

I don't like the checkered. Reminds most people of Nascar and I don't want to follow the SE and Houston ideas....

Don't forget to send this info to Steve. He's collecting ideas and prices so he can take it to the board when they met.:)

Can we maybe change the title to Riders Merchandise ideas? I don't want to start 15 different threads and this topic fits in nicely.

Anywho, who would be interested in Riders Man of the Year pint glasses? Logo on one side, winners on the other. I'm sure I'd buy more than one.

Here's an example of a site that does them: http://www.kardwell.com/pintglass1.htm
Cost would be around $3.00 ea total with setup and shipping included, but I'm not sure if this particular company does two sides. That's just one example.

The only thing about that is the color issue and I'm getting a cost of $5.83 ea.

If we want to do Midnight Rider logo'd navy blue car flags, it would be as followed...

50 quality flags for $490
100 quality flags for $840

If we want to do the rider of the logo on a white flag, it would be...

50 quality flags for $330
100 quality flags for $560

I personally would like the Midnight Rider logo on a Navy Blue car flag. The site I went through also has an option, a $1 more per flag, for an unbreakable stiff pole that you can take a piece off and it doubles as a hand held flag pole. So we can take the flags from the car into the stadium.

Quote after that option

MRL 50 Q Flags - $540
MRL 100 Q Flags - $940

RWF 50 Q Flags - $380
RWF 100 Q Flags - $660

*MRL - Midnight Rider Logo Navy Blue Flag
RWF - Rider Horse White Flag
Q - Quality

Jim, how are you getting those numbers because I'm getting $269.28. We have 4 additional colors (red, blue, white, black, gray/silver [one is a given, the other 4 are additional]).

Sorry for posting this a few days later, but our, ahem, free wireless internet has been down for a few days. I actually had my reply written when it went out:

This site looks to be much better: http://www.customglassware.com/imprinted_glassware_6.htm
I ran some numbers and came up with about $212 for 72 before shipping:

$70 setup (I'm assuming one for each side if the sides are different) + 72 X $1.97 (two colors) = $212.

We don't need all the colors in the logo. Use dark blue for the red and blue stripes and black to outline the letters and soccer ball as well as the rider on horseback.

I picked 72 because that's the lowest economical number. 50 would cost $30 more for some reason.

I'll go out on a limb and say shipping would be around $50. I'll try and get a better number if I can. They also send a refund if any break. That brings the total cost to a little under $4.00 each.

As a frame of reference for price, The SE's sell one-sided logo glasses for $10 and 9 for $36. I know there's some elements of that group we don't want to emulate, but they are a supporters group that sells beer glasses.

Sure. I'll do a little photoshopping. I'll get an example up of what it would look like in about 20 mins...

First off, I would like to state that any use or modification of the logo here is for the intent of seeing how it would look on a pint glass. If this is inappropriate, I will remove it.

I am no artist, but this is how it would look with only blue and black. The white would be clear on the glass:

You could add red for $.59 more.

For the other side, it might have to be only one color because I'm assuming any additional color there would be another $.59. Something like:

Midnight Riders Man of the Year

***The Revere Cup***

2006 Andy Dorman
2005 Clint Dempsey
2004 Taylor Twellman
2003 Taylor Twellman
2002 Taylor Twellman
2001 Catê
2000 Rusty Pierce
1999 Dan Calichman
1998 Edwin Gorter
1997 Walter Zenga
1996 Alberto Naveda

It's called the revere cup, right?

Cut me some slack. The only type of artist I've ever been branded is sandwich artist.

Actually, I don't believe the actual award has been called anything. Also, it's a Revere Bowl, not a cup, but I'm just making conversation here.
