Jim pretty much played it perfectly with the "Validity Committee", getting Dwight's hopes up by "thinking" for a second there. It's the little things like that that get me. That and the magic marker... probably the funniest sight gag I've seen on television in years.
And of course Dwight... from the dead goose, to his poor seating situation at the restaurant, to throwing the cell phone off the building. Brilliant.
What about Creed and the toys for kids box?
"Creed, I think you're supposed to give a toy, not take one."
"And a Happy Holidays to you as well."

The whole time Karen and Pam were planning the party, I couldn't help but put myself in Jim's shoes and think... threesome!

I don't think Jim had any interest in helping to plan the party.

For me, the little thing that got me was Toby getting all depressed because Dwight took away his Dunder Mifflin bathrobe, and how his face lights up when Pam gets him a new gift bag at the end of the day.
It's hilariously absurd, and at the same time depressingly believable how a company logo bathrobe is so important to him.

And there was his pathetic little, "Why?" after Dwight took it from him. That and him rubbing it while Kevin was wearing his. Great stuff.
I wonder if Karen's gonna be a regular character. Now that Jim seems to realize he still loves Pam, I assume Karen will eventually find out. She did move to Scranton because of him. Would she move back also?

It's funny that Michael and Toby have such an adversarial relationship, because what they want above all things is to be liked, but they go the opposite direction. Michael tries way too hard while Toby needs to actually try and stand up for himself.

That whole episode was gold. Just gold. The whole thing about Michael confusing his dates was hilarious from the start. Also the fact that they apparently struck out with their original waitresses. The whole episode (the parties, dwight, creed, etc) was great. And apparently they are going to have Jim end up with Pam. I just hope they give Karen more to do like in this episode.

Never seen more than a few minutes of the show here or there until tonight when I caught half of it. It makes me sad that I'm almost always busy on Thursday nights...is this rerun at a different time slot?

nope, but it is available OnDemand if you have that for like $1 (but you don't get it forever) or you can purchase the episodes on iTunes.

A great episode. Angela reminded me of a woman I used to work with who was one of those who went from being a party girl to a holly roller who would disprove of anything done in the office she didn't like (she went to my boss to ask that I get written up during the Bush-Gore Floridia battle because she didn't feel politics should be discussed in the office, for example). Anyway, one year we had decided for our department party to go to lunch then go see the Rockettes show here in Chicago. The co-worker declined to go because the short skirts on the Rockettes offended her. We went without her and had an even better time. :)

Many thanks to NBC for running it again just a week later in the 9 PM slot (PST). Even though I had already read the material here there was plenty else to entertain. And even knowing some of the jokes, I still found them funny.

Since I missed this one while stuck at the office repeating myself over and over again to a gaggle of bosses, I was glad to get a chance to see the entire show (I'd tried to sneak watching it in the kitchen while at work, but someone followed me there and kept bothering me).
