Norwegian league begins!

Tippeligaen kicked off yesterday with champions Rosenborg against the run of play beating Vålerenga 1-0 at Lerkendal Stadium in front of 17000 fans. Goal scored by former Celtic player Harald Brattbakk.

The opening round to be completed today with:

Odd Grenland - Molde
Viking - Bryne
Aalesund - Tromsø

Lyn - Brann tonight ended goalless.

according to VG the game was fairly chippy and ugly which is easy to understand given the fact lyn's coach is the former Brann coach.

brann apparently was the better side in the first half and created some decent chances. according to their coach they were unlucky not to score and were "clearly the better team". many observers pick brann to by relegated this year.

lyn played better in the second half and seemed to hold posession better. a brann subsitute missed by inches to the right at the 80th minute.

the game was in oslo and lyn was favored.
