Personally, I thought it was good. Love the 1/2 hour wrap up after the match, hate the guy calling him "Harksey" Stop it, it's annoying!
Nice touch having the guys at the match, hope that continues. And....Max is Max, love him, hate him...i don't care, one more MLS match a week is great no matter who babbles the commentary.

The picture quality reminded me of the ESPN feeds during the World Cup. It was so blurry I couldn't identify the players. Max was good. Loved the camera angle. John Harkes is no Roy Wegerle, but I suppose he'll do for now. That was sarcasm.

As FSW allotted 2.5 hours for the game, rather than espn2's 2.0 hours, the telecast did not have the "rushed" feeling it often does on espn2. This was doubly so tonight as they went to extra time.
More live soccer on TV = always good in my book.

Harkes made more sense in his first appearance than Ty has made in a decade.
I give Harkes an A-, considering it was his first MLS studio appearance.
Questions for the group
1) The announcers seemed to be having a very hard time identifying players. Were they at the stadium?
2) Are my eyes going bad or was the FSW picture (at least via DISH) blurry?
3) The crowd was either miked poorly or the mix was horrible because you could barely hear them cheer on the three goals.

1. They were in the LA stuidos.
2. The feed wasn't very good.
3. They need to improve the stadium sound.

1) I believe the announcers are calling the game from the studio. I think the agreement was just to send the sideline guy to the game.
2)The picture on DTV was also blurry. I switched to the shootout package, I believe Comcast was carrying it and it was also blurry. Could have been the same feed but I'm not positive.

Watching games from Arrowhead stadium on a 13 inch TV=not good. Camera used for the overall shot is wayyyyyy back off the field.
I thought they did well. You could really tell they weren't in the stadium, but if you've watched enough FSW, then you're used to it. There were a couple of touches called wrong, but nothing big.
I thought Harkes was good. He's still not completely comfortable looking at the camera, and on longer segments (where the camera was on him for more than 10 secs), he looked a little lost.
Not the greatest job in the world, but more soccer=good.

It's too quite. If you turned to the Shootout done by Comcast you could hear the crowd and that made the game a little more interesting to watch. I hope they can do something to improve that. I mean what would it cost to send some boom guys to get game and crowd noise?

Blurry for me, but I loved seeing the game.
Harkes did pretty good. Sean didn't impress me.
Max, Christian - I could complain, but I am just happy.

They said people can e-mail questions or call in questions...... but wtf is the e-mail and phone #????
MLS Wrap is a awsome show btw. Only thing i'd change would be the dude to stop calling Harks 'Harksey'. It sounds gay.

I am with you, this show is fantastic.
WOW!
Reminds me of the 90 Minuto! Interviews and all.
I would like to ask Harksey if he is still US captain.

Thanks FSW.
I decided not to buy shoot out this year because of FSW and ESPN2 coverage. Being able to watch 2 games (or record them!) is more than enough even if sometimes I will miss out on some games I'd like to see.
The camera work could have been better and I'm wondering if there is a reason that it wasn't (was it the stadium, FSW, the crew, or just some mistakes on the first MLS game).
BTW I'm not very much into the FSW announcing crew normally, but often in past years the official MLS crew would make excuses for MLS or try to play MLS up or compare MLS to other leagues too much during coverage. Max just seems to have the "this is an important and exciting match" just from the way he calls the game and doesn't go on those annoying Ty or Jack tangents. You have to like that.

Not having to listen to Ty is a bonus.
This wrap show is so good. Seeing every goal, its like a dream.
The misses, the saves, the goals - this is what its all about.

Of the two telecasts of the same game (the one on Fox Sports World, and the one on the Comcast Sports Network via the MLS Shootout Package), the Shootout one had a clearer picture, while the FSW one had better commentary.
I eventually ended up watching the FSW telecast... at least until the Earthquakes/Rapids game on the Shootout started. :)

hey it was awesome. you're right about it not feeling rushed. loved see MLSgetting the full coverage it desirves. the quality was a little bit rough but id rather have a new network doing games that cares about the game than an established one with a slightly smoother presentation that doesnt. thank you FSW
there's some kinks to be worked out, but it was awesome.

Are you kidding me? It was worth every penny of that $49 to be able to hear Brad Sham instead of Max Bretos.

I switched over to Comcast Sports Net because of the picture. Also, because I don't have digital on the downstairs tv and the kids were annoying me while I watched upstairs. :)
After the game ended, I ran upstairs to watch the post-game, which was absolutely wonderful. Didn't see the wrap and probably will miss it this week, but I plan to tune in next week.

I watched the wrapup on FSW and the highlight show, but you better believe I watched the Shootout version of KC-DC if only to keep Bretos' mouth shut.
