I set a tape for the FSW showing just to see how they did. Max had quite a few mistakes in his comments and they babbled too much. When the pciture is not good, they need to be more consistent in picking out who is playing the ball. Still I am glad for the extra games on TV and the highlight show.
1. Preki scored a great goal to lead Bruce Aren'a US team over Brazil
2. Lost Jaime Moreno, an original DC United player
A couple more that I have removed from my memory.

What was up with that sound and picture quality on FSW. I watched shootout 'couse sound and picture were 100 times better.

It's nice to see MLS presented in a way that respects the audience as knowing something about soccer. Big difference from ESPN's presentation.
Nice job for a first broadcast. I think Harkes is going to do a great job once he gets more possible.
I HATED that camera angle though. Maybe it was the quality of the feed, but I just wanted to scream at the director to have the camera zoom in a little more. Man was it annoying.
Overall though, this is a real positive step for MLS.

The only negative for me was the picture quality of the KC/DC game. Too blurry on my digital cable. Otherwise, I thought Max and Hopkins were fine, and the Wrap show, while it had some small glitches, was pretty good. I think Harkes is going to turn into a fine analyst once he's been doing it for long enough.

I started out switching back and forth between the Comcast broadcast (via MLS SO) and FSW but eventually stuck with FSW. I didn't notice any problems with the picture (although my vision is crap to begin with) and I enjoyed Bretos/Hopkins enthusiasm. It seemed like they were actually excited about MLS and confident in their enthusiasm. I know it sounds weird but a lot of the local announcers give you the feeling that they even think MLS is rinky-dink.
I fell asleep right after the OT goal so I didn't see the wrap-up show but I'll check it out this week.

Wonder if they'll start re-airing these games during the week. After all, they do it with every other league they televise. I ask because I want to do my best to see EVERY game! I have limitations (namely two little kids who need to be fed, bathed and put to bed from 7-8:30) on being able to watch live and switch back and forth to find the best game, so I use my PVR. I got to see all of the snooze-fest Metros-Columbus game, the end of the KC-DC game and finally the last 35 minutes of the Colo-SJ game. BTW, this is the reason I hate overtime - I always have to tape 15 min extra, which ends of being wasted time in many cases.
Anyway, it turned out I missed most of the best match of the night - except for the golden goal. Searched in vain for a FSW re-air of it, but no dice.
