Let's just get right into it...
Robinson -7 He made some great saves in the first half. 2nd half was less involved for him. Goal was not his fault imo. Defense should have cleared an easy throw in from the side. Whether he should have come out or stayed his line, is irrelevent, as it never should have got that deep in to begin with.
Richards- 8 MOTM........ I thought for an 18 yr. old to play his first game at the senior level for England, he did an outstanding job. In the important task of stopping Robben, he pestered him the whole match. Great athleticism, speed, size.. Like Sinnie said, just needs to work on his passing a bit. Future RB of England.
Rio- 6.5...... Played relaxed and did his job.
Terry-6.5... Solid, nothing else..
Ash Cole- 6.5.... Ditto
Gerrard- 7.... played hard and created an almost go ahead goal in the end..
Lampard- 6..... Decent first half, 2nd half went to the toilets
Carrick-5....Gave away possession too many times for the role that he has to play..Hargreaves is missed at this position..
J. Cole- 7..... Nice to see him back, and another solid game.. Fantastic cross to the Rooney..
Rooney- 7.5... Scored the only goal for England. Hustled back on defense like he always does.. Created a couple of chances.. Never give up attitude..
A. Johnson- 4.... Did nothing beneficial, except maybe take a little pressure off of Rooney with his speed. Lost possession time after time. Looked out of sorts at times..
Subs..
Richardson-4... did nothing
SWP-5..did a little better than Richardson...: )

Your rating seemed to be very accurate.
I would rather give Rooney 8. His goal was great.

Ratings from f365 pretty much on the money.

Paul Robinson
Whereas his namesake presents the Weakest Link, Robinson simply presents compelling evidence that he is the Weakest Link.
If England had something superior to a second-rate keeper between the sticks then Holland's 86th-minute throw-in would have been punched clear and the Three Lions would have secured a comfortable and deserved victory. Instead, once again, Robinson remained rooted to his goalline and his team suffered the consequences.
Goodbye?
Rating: 5.
Ashley Cole
Made frequent appearances in the Dutch half before England's goal. Upon that event, Cole reverted to being a defensively-minded full-back - an action which suggested a sensibility and selflessness not previously apparent following the publication of his autobiography.
Rating: 6.
Rio Ferdinand
Ferdinand is in danger of becoming the new Sol Campbell: namely, an excellent defender who cannot pass.
There's a persistent rumour that Ferdinand possesses the ability to operate as a ball-playing centre-half but as we've clearly entered the realms of science fiction I may as well announce that this review was written from a spaceship parked on the M25.
Rating: 8.
John Terry
Terry will never be able to reproduce his domineering club form for his country because the relatively-refined style of international football does not suit the Chelsea captain in the manner that the gung-ho and unsubtle Premiership certainly does.
Nonetheless, he remains a fine international defender and although England have plenty of problems to address there is no need to fret about either of their centre-halves.
Rating: 7.
Micah Richards
A fabulous prospect. Totally unfazed on his international debut at the tender age of 18, the Man Citeh rookie coped admirably with the threat of Arjen Robben.
The beleaguered England manager deserves credit for including the youngster.
Rating: 7.
Michael Carrick
No more a footballer of international quality than a Rhinoceros is a fish.
Rating: 2.
Frank Lampard
To borrow a line or two from F365's player ratings for the England v Sweden fixture earlier this year: 'Frank Lampard. So anonymous that he may as well have not been on the pitch. On second thoughts, he was so anonymous that he may well have not been on the pitch. Has anyone seen him recently?'
Rating: 5.
Steven Gerrard
Should have scored before the interval and could have won the match in the dying minutes. Played well without ever imposing himself.
Rating: 6.
Joe Cole
England have missed Joe Cole. A sublimely gifted player, his production rate continues to rise and his cross for Wayne Rooney's goal was sumptuous.
Yet it would be wholly amiss to reflect on his display without condemning his repeated theatrics. Time and time again, Cole was guilty of throwing himself to the ground after apparently losing a painful fight with gravity. Such behaviour is worse than embarrassing; when committed in England colours it is shameful.
The best that can be said of Cole's Oscar-winning performance is that it exposed the pretence that only Johnny Foreigner dives for the blatant lie that it is.
Rating: 8 minus 2.
Andy Johnson
So much for Steve McClaren's avowed commitment to learn a valuable lesson from the Sven-Goran Eriksson era and refuse to put square pegs in round holes. Johnson has now made two England appearances, both as a winger.
The Everton striker - a description which presumably doesn't tally with McClaren's - endured an uneventful evening but as he spent all but five minutes out of position his travails offered no evidence either way regarding his international credentials.
Which begs the question of what function his inclusion actually served.
Rating: N/A
Wayne Rooney
The full bewildering folly of deploying Johnson on the wing can only be appreciated by acknowledging that Rooney was in turn then required to play out of position.
He is, though, England's best hope of a rewarding future. A crafty touch produced his first goal in international colours for over a year and, particularly when dropping deep, the Boy Wonder was at the hub of the Three Lions' best moments.

He got the main points right though with players out of position etc. I'm pretty shocked Mclarens escaped most of the flak because that last night was truly awful.

No, there ratings were shite.... Robinson, clearly, was way better than a 4..And Andy Johnson was crap, and deserved a below par rating, instead of a "n/a"..

Because the other thread is closed i will post this here:
I just read this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/internationals/6146080.stm
I have to say i'm just shocked! Both teams played very poorly but according to Mr McClaren this were the best 90 minutes of England under his reign...
And saying England deserved to win this game is even more shocking. Both teams should be put in a military camp or something, that's what they deserve!
Lol i now see that some people give the almost all the England player's an 6 or better... LMAO!

Well did not have to wait long for the catch:mad: AJ as a wing and not a striker pairing but Roon out of place again as a lone striker...
unless McSven goes now there will be no qualifying
I think England are going to find it really difficult to qualify from their group. Away fixtures in Israel and Russia, and Macedonia proved that the home games arn't necessarily gonna be any easier.
I'm fearful I wont be able to watch Portugal knock us out in the next European Championship (only joking, we will have our revenge).

What, Gerrard or Carrick were better:rolleyes:
None were steller, Cole coming the closest, Carrick was useless, Gerrard about the same as Lampard.
The problem is McSven who had them lined up 4 across in the last third most of the 2nd half

I'm not going to rate player by player, instead I'll give both England and Holland a 4.
The Dutch because they simply didn't show up and were awfull in both defense and midfield, and the English because they could have easily won the game after the 0-1,but chose to sit back and play on the counter instead of ripping us apart.Could have, and should have been a major confidence boost for the English.
In short: a wasted 90 mins of my life. The quality of play, the tactics...Ugly.
Lets hope both teams improve drastically.Good luck.

gerrard was more effective than lamps
gerrard found cole for the cross and went through on goal early on through perseverance and nearly scored late on after a fantastic dummy
i cant remember lamps doing one thing worthwhile
if 4-3-3 can work then the players should be in their correct positions at least
id rather see bent in the middle with cole/lennon and rooney on either side

It also needs a proper defensive midfielder and not Carrick if it's going to work.

here is my rating for McClaren..
minus 1000
shown himself to be completely clueless with his selections ,tactics and substitutions. Totally delusional in his belief thats things are going well for the team.
thick ginger tosser.
