This belongs in P&CE so I can point out the moral bankruptcy of Fox and their hypocrisy in trying to claim the voice of values in this country -- surely instigating arguments which don't belong in this forum.
Oh wait . . .

I shook my head when I saw this earlier tonight. I had no words to describe it. but I knew I was gonna watch it.
I would assume the lawyers have gone over this, but I would think he'd be sitting himself up for some charges. For one, I know it's illegal for criminals to profit off thier acts (i.e. a serial killer writes a tell-all, he doesn't get to keep the money). OJ was found liable in the civil trial ....
there's double jeopardy of course, but this seems an awful ballsy thing to do, doesn't it?
is this just a sick, sick, sick way of bragging?

They cannot charge for the same crime twice, right???? Is he really a "criminal" in the eyes of the law?

This is all just a ploy... to get the "real killers" to be enraged by his stupid plan and go "NUH UH!!! THIS IS HOW WE DID IT, WATCH!!!"

Shouldn't we have an [R] in the thread title?

He cannot, that would be double jeopardy. He is not a criminal in the eyes of the law, despite the award the jury issued in the civil case. This is pretty messed up, but is by no means illegal.

Assuming he hasn't paid a penny of the fines awarded to the Goldman's in the civil case, I'm willing to bet he's not making anything off of this. And if that's not why he's doing it, then I'm really at a loss for words.

It will get a big ratings. Morally, it is a bad thing to watch it, but I will watch it if I live in the US.

Maybe this is free publicity for his new book that is coming out. Of course, why is he coming out with a book? Is he hoping to make enough $$$ from the royalties to pay the $33.5 million he owes? Maybe he's tired of being hounded by lawyers every time he does something that might make him some money. IIRC he was confronted by some lawyers who reminded him that any $$$ he makes has to go to the victim's families during some convention where he was signing autographs.

What a great chance for the CW network! They could have the parents of Ronald Goldman and Nicole Brown staring in We Have Not Killed OJ Simpson, But If We Did, This Is How We Would Do It.

which is why I brought up double jeopardy in my original post .....
and that's why I mentioned he was found liable in a civil trial ..... I'm not sure what that legally says. I know it's not the same as a guilty conviction. But I have no idea what it means.
Like I said, I'm sure the lawyers have gone over it. but it's an awful ballsy thing to do. he's basically saying I got away with it then, and I can get away with it now.

I don't get it. I think we all already have a pretty good idea of 'how he would have done it'

He would have killed them with harsh language.
