If St. Louis did get the 2008 expansion team, where do you think they would be placed...Eastern or Western Conference? Eastern would make more sense with KC, Chicago, and Columbus being there, but since Toronto already was placed there, wouldn't they want to even out the conferences? What do you think?

Maybe send another team like KC back to the west and add STL to the east.

I think that's the most likely scenario. KC will unfortunately be the whipping boy in terms of moving conferences to accomodate expansion with Philly, San Jose/Bay Area, and StL being the next three most likely teams to enter MLS.

Hopefully by that time The Comish will realized that a single table platform would be better.

For 2007, MLS is going to a 30 game schedule.

They have also indicated that, eventually, the goal of expansion is to reach 16 teams.

This would work perfectly with a 30 game schedule, single table, play every team twice.

Of course, St. Louis may end up being team #14, so I am not sure how they'd handle that one. Perhaps two divisions of seven, play each team in the opposite division twice (2X7=14 games) and each team in your division three times (3X6=18 games) for a 32 game schedule until they get up to 16 teams.

Assuming it's two divisions, and St Louis is next:

WEST
Galaxy
Chivas
Real
Rapids
Dynamo
FCD
Wizards

EAST
St Louis
Fire
Crew
TFC
Red Bull
United
Revolution

It would keep the Texas in-state rivalry in place, but would prevent a Mo. state rivalry from being in conference (of course, neither team would actually play in Missouri). But it would give us a conference rivalry with the Fire.
