I was driving the other night and forgot my mp3 player that I hook up to my car stereo via auxiliary an cable.
I was listening to a classic Rock station and there was this song by the Bee Gees playing. I cant Get it out of my head.
I don't know the title, but during the chorus they kept saying " good bye"
Something like..
Good bye heather, goodbye jane
Goodbye "Something" , ITs all the same.
I tried searching Google, lyric sites> i even downloaded the Bee Gees greatest hits album. I couldn't find it. I like Hummed the song to my mom once and she said she remembered the song but couldn't offer any help.
Heeeelp!
Anyone in this thread who helps will have my gratitude and I will rep you for the rest of my life!
I know i Butuchered it.

Actually, it's Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodbye_Stranger
Understandable mistake though.
Goodbye Stranger
It was an early morning yesterday
I was up before the dawn
And I really have enjoyed my stay
But I must be moving on
Like a king without a castle
Like a queen without a throne
Im an early morning lover
And I must be moving on
Now I believe in what you say
Is the undisputed truth
But I have to have things my own way
To keep me in my youth
Like a ship without an achor
Like a slave without a chain
Just the thought of those sweet ladies
Sends a shiver through my veins
And I will go on shining
Shining like brand new
Ill never look behind me
My troubles will be few
Goodbye strange its been nice
Hope you find your paradise
Tried to see your point of view
Hope your dreams will all come true
Goodbye mary, goodbye jane
Will we ever meet again
Feel no sorrow, feel no shame
Come tomorrow, feel no pain
Now some they do and some they dont
And some you just cant tell
And some they will and some they wont
With some its just as well
You can laugh at my behavior
Thatll never bother me
Say the devil is my savior
But I dont pay no heed
And I will go on shining
Shining like brand new
Ill never look behind me
My troubles will be few
Goodbye stranger its been nice etc...

I can't even hear the name Supertramp without thinking about Magnolia.

Huh. I can see how that falsetto would fool you if you don't already know who it is.
Want a good listen, go out and buy Supertramp's Breakfast In America. It has Goodbye Stranger (nice guitar solo at the end of the tune, too) as well as several other good tunes.

I'm glad BigSoccer has cleared up, not just any old Bee Gees question, but the Bee Gees question.

Breakfast In America is a classic. The Rhapsody review is hilarious:
Supertramp's biggest record came out in that period in-between the excesses of the 1970s and the Reagan era, when all music started to sound like it was actually made out of cocaine. "The Logical Song" and "Take the Long Way Home" ensured perpetual classic rock rotation, but everybody knows Supertramp's real contribution was the beautiful "Goodbye Stranger."

That is a really funny line... the music being actually made out of cocaine.
