The officiating is worse lately, but I don't think it has to do with Padilla, is just that the refs are pretty bad, if Padilla fails to remedy the situation, than he has to share the blame. I think he has an uphill battle, if you take into account the latest developments with the refs, the fact that they don't want him.
Pachuca has been affected more by bad officiting this season. I have not watched many Pumas games this time around, started to a few times, but found it too boring, so I can't comment on the refs for those games.

Don't be absurd.... its obvious what you are up to... just because Pumas finished higher than america... make no mistake, you will still get all the help you are acustomed to.
We have had a couple of perfectly good goals disallowed this season, but look at yesterday.... clear red on the pen, given as a yellow .... but then giving Gaitan a straight red for chat!!.... the referring is still just very poor, we have had good and bad of that, but I would not say that it really affected any result of any pumas game this season.
Padilla putting pressure on refs to help Pumas..... grow up.... I mean the refs just LOVE him, don't they?

tuca has been getting good treatment on the bench...
there are many reporters that feel that padilla in front of the committee is a conflict of interest considering unam is 2nd to last in the relegation zone....

OK, but where has it affected the result of any match involving pumas this season?
Look at the second goal v America, for example... would have been very easy for the ref to call a foul on Parejita... OK, probably wasn't but it was close enough for the ref to call it......

You throw the biggest hissy fits whenever somebody brings the "america gets benefitted" thing and now here you are immediately making claims. I think its BS just like a lot of America ref allegations are BS.
You can stop with the Tuca thing that is BS. I remember my main argument when Hugo was coaching was the fact that Hugo was getting tossed for silly things while in Tigres, Tuca could scream and act like a mad man the whole game and he got a pass from every refs, the same refs that were hunting for Hugo during libertadores.

....and yet they still get all the calls their way....
hardly lends credence to your supposition that an ex-president = refs helping you...

America has recieved more bad calls than they have good calls and has been eliminated more time on bad calls than helped out.
20 years ago, and people still talk about the hand ball against UNAM. Had America won against Mty the way Toluca did, it still would be fresh on everyones mind. This difference is you have one half of the press dedicated to attacking a certain team.
but dont misdirect the issue. a couple teams and many reporters (that have never been known to single out) are concerned that padilla may benefit his ex club. i am not questioning padilla, but it is also no far fetched to think that

Not from where I'm sitting, some of the stuff I have seen at The Azteca is a real joke.

Lazy journalism..... have they got anything other than the fact he is ex-pumas?
Anyway, your (leading) question in the title..... probably it has got better since Hugo left.... simply cos the refs had it in for him...most of his sendings off were vindictive... if Padilla wants to cut that out, fine.... once again, I ask you, how is he going to tell the refs they have to give Pumas more penalties?

is there a conflict of interest having an ex club president in charge of officiating when that club is facing relegation?

I believe the situation in which he came in makes for controversy but it would be as absurd to think it'll be a benefit to pumas, that is almost as absurd as saying he was appointed as the head in officiating to have an influence and help the situation pumas is in.
I think officitating improved a bit this past week except for that of Mauricio Morales in that pachuca/atlante match where he continued his poor officiating job by awarding atlante with a goal that was clearly offisides, he overturned even the decision of his lineman who had raised the flag.
I watched chiquidracula actually call a decent game which surprised me! overall i think it improved with very little exceptions here and there but my only question is for how long?
As i looked at the list of assigned refs. for liguilla it worries me again to see guys like Delgadillo, gasso, mauricio morales amongst others who are clearly not qualified but i guess the top heads dont feel confident yet in some of the new up and coming guys so to avoid any critisizm they rather go with the veterans.
I have a feeling there will be some changes after the season ends and I HOPE SO for the good of our league but as of right now I think the current refs know themselves they are under intense pressure to have a seperb liguilla because they will be under the loop and their jobs could possibly be on the line.

Here you go with your America is persecuted campaign. And yet you had no qualm about complaining about Padilla with only the basis that he was UNAM president. Has UNAM had any great help.
Whenever America get screwed by a ref you are the first one to cry foul and that they are against you and when teams gets screwed against America, you are the first one to try to excuse it. And now here you come saying about possible stuff that hasn't happened, when UNAM is right now saving themselves out of the descenso in the last weeks, as if its a possibility now when it has been by their own. If somebody went to the America forum with their, they just got benefitted because of Compean becoming president of the FMF, you would be the first outraged. It's BS.

For a moment I thought this was going to be a seriuos thread.
America has been benefited by refs since televisa took over the team. Why question the posibility of Pumas getting preferencial treatment by Padilla?

I am not whining. Putting things into perspective is not whining. If anything, its antiamericanistas that cry and whine about prefrential treatment that America supposedly gets from the refs. 13 years without a title and they get prefered treatment for the refs? 13 years without a title and Televisa controls the shots?
I have heard it all from the FMF choosing formats to benefit America to FMF choosing groups to benefit America. I guess its part of the price for being successful. Just 2 days ago I lauhed my ass off when Morelia's coach Figueroa said that the team did not fail, that teams like America, Chivas not qualifying would be failures. He fails to forget that he plays for a team that has deep pockets as well. I just put things into perspective.
-------------------------------
However, this is not about America and dont ********ing try a misdirection. This is a legit concern for many.
Like I stated earlier, I agree with the refs for wanting a head official with prior officiating experience and also with no ties to any clubs (as stated in FIFA's bylaws). I also agree that the format how they choose the officials is messed up. What I did not agree with is the timing and how they went about it. For example, the method in how they choose officials has been going on for over a year and they decide to try to boycott a year later?
It is a concern for even some well respected reporters in Mexico to have an ex-club official at the head of the officiating committee.

do you have proof of this?
One thing is having announcers being biased for a certain team, another thing is ordering an official to help out a certain team.
having announcers being biased towards a team is nothing new in Mexico (in the world). Not saying its right, but in no way does that influence an actual score.

I never liked Yamasaki, nor Codesal. I did not like how they over protected their favorites.
I think Ramos Rizo was a damn good official, but his image was tarnished. I wouldn't mind seeing him at the head of the committee. However, the currents refs would be against him. Archundia and others were very jealous of Ramos Rizo. Archundia was on his way to Japorea when Felipe started to advance further. Archundia had more years than Ramos Rizo and then came in Felipe and started to get more games and bigger matches.
Say what you will about Brizio, I think he was a fine international referee and did Mexican officiating justice.

The older Brizio, right?
I'm actually surprised he was not appointed to head the referee comission, I tougth he wanted that job. I think we would do fine.
